I counted mine as I slotted them in and it came to 703, then we were told not to bother as they would just take our call rate and double it. So, my call rate on the duty i'm on this week is 450, so i'll gain by nearly 200! The actual number that was on my tray was 834.
Are Royal Mail cooking the books....again!!??

They won't do me out four and a half pence. The DOMs was weighing them rather than counting them.....

That's what happened to us; and it came 200 off the mark (of a total 800) - i wasnt in when it got counted so cant pursuade people to "moan" about it specially as most of them got it done already

Surely what we count is what the council has to pay! so if the dom counts less than whats there, then the council are saving a fortune as they dont have to pay RM for the items that had been delivered

i went on a round and they put half of them polling cards in the frame and when i asked do we get paid they said no just overtime if you go over your time so just got 30 mins ot off doing half of them.

I Would question that tomorrow with your rep. He is trying to do you and bigger bonus for him.

we were told all had to go no matter what time we got finished and we were not getting o/t as we were getting 3.5p per item...had to collapse as aswell

Beats me how different offices are giving different prices. A Neighbouring council to me is getting their own people to deliver them at 20p a item. I'd be up for that if i could get my hands on them and a few days on the Pat & Mick while I deliver them...

Don't we only get the payment if theres no postage on the poll cards, so if it's 1st, 2nd etc you get nothing only if the card has no postage do you get paid??

In simple terms all poll cards will be paid for at the rate per item applicable to the delivery unit, in line with the national agreement covering the delivery of election material.

First we were told 3p per card and 2 times your delivery point, i argued that there were more cards than that showing the DOM houses with 5 or 6 cards and he finally agreed to 2.5 times your delivery drops, then today he said our local MC was paying 4.2 per card and we would be paid the same, anyway to cut a long story short i calculated that it's worth £53.46 to me

EDIT: Had 3 days to do them so took where i was going Monday and today and will finish the few that are left tomorrow, a very easy £53.

6p at our place,i had just over 1200(the most in our office) and it worked out around £84,but i only took a third out Saturday as im on a driving duty this week.

No Sorry but it astounds me that where money is concerned people dont make sure they know what they are due. No wonder RM try it on.

But for the bit you got wrong I shall quote the relevant part:

We will make unit payment at the appropriate local rate for all poll cards delivered for the election in 2011.

I think you have mistaken the political leaflets which are addressed and have a PPI account impression - we do not get paid for them only the D2D type ones (but not if they come by D2D contract) -

Election communication candidate mail will again attract the normal unit payment rate for the office.

3. There will be no candidate mail for the AV referendum. It is likely we will make a Door To Door delivery of an information leaflet during week commencing 4 April. We might also have normal letters posted by the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ campaigns. These normal letters and the Door To Door mail don’t attract unit payment.
