You know i have not seen a a manager in the building when i return on a sat for about 6 years. no freeking joke

Someone from the callers office stays behind on ot until the last man. I usually ring about 14.00 just to let them know I'm still out. 2 lads in a van got back a couple of minutes or so after me.
Week before last, 2 blokes got back to find the office locked up. Somehow they contacted somebody who had to return to the office for them.

A customer had a go at me for breaking a plastic tray on saturday. On the envelope it said do not bend so i did not bend it,the item broke because I bounced the envelope off her hallway floor as i posted the item.The mail box is about 3 feet up and the door was closed,i am still trying to work out how i bounced the tray of the hallway

No, they had left by then mate. Just the bloke in the callers office to make sure nobody got locked out, unlike the previous week with the 2 blokes in the van. They obviously didn't ring up so he didn't know they were still out.

Saturday before last was due to be my day off, but agreed to work it as long as I could have the Saturday just gone off. As a part-timer, I always work my day off, except Saturdays. Have never had a Monday off and they know it.

Turned up this morning and someone from another DO is on my normal round. Apparently he's here all week, presumably to cover the mess described in this thread:

Steaming, as I've lost a day's pay, plus the election payment. Our old lino got put on leave cover a few weeks ago, but it still doing the planning as the new guy doesn't know the rounds. Methinks he's trying to bugger things up for the new bloke, as nothing he's doing is making sense anymore

Still booking an hour on a quiet day. Gaps everywhere, the HCT is the real problem, slows the job down something terrble.

Your not wrong about the HCT. This walk iam doing has been done by a knob using his car for 7 years and the dom cant understand wht iam booking 2.5-3 hrs extended every week

Rubbish for a Tuesday. First day day back on this round after 3 days off it. No D2Ds or Sky mags done and all the deads left.

Came in at 8.30, to load of IPS and nearly two packet bags, which included 13 signed fors. Nearly four hours walking and then another hour back at the DO sorting/prepping the leftover mess for tomorrow. At least we're getting a decent wedge for the poll cards.

Heaviest day of the week today, but the walk I'm on still wasn't anywhere near bad on packets. One packet bag and that was it. Some heavy magazines made it a five-bag day, but I was still done on time despite having a leisurely chat with a few folk in the D.O. before I finally made my way out into the world. Another thing I have noticed about this easy walk I'm on compared to the hard walk I have often been placed on is that it gets so few recordeds. I've had about ten recordeds over the entire five days I've been on it. I've had three specials all week. Some people have got a really easy life. Amazingly, a few of the monster walks in our office have been given over to the new-starts as supposed training walks.

It could have been such a sweet day

Just 2 trays of mech on the frame when i got in which i had prepped before we got called up on the ips. Quite a lot of flats around but its been like that for a couple of weeks now. The 2nd lorry came in whist on the ips and gave me another tray and half of mech. Finished the sorting by 7.10am so got around to the frame and hammered through the mech.

I was all prepped by 8am and looking to be out before 8.30 and THEN it HAPPENED

We got called back to the sorting for just "a few loose letters guys" yeah right MY ARSE

Two full yorks of letter trays

Anyway did not get out till 9.15am which is about normal and finished at 13.35. But could have been a nice day.
