You just can't get this into your head (I'm beginning to think you're American) it's not about what is actually going on but the perception of what's going on.

We did ask for a ballot.................but the less said about that the better

I believe the colleague share issue is a distraction from the fact that 2010 isn't working and that RM are about to make yet more "amendments" to the agreement, which as you say is deeply unpopular, certainly at DO level. It is not worth getting into conflict about that as a stand alone issue. Those issues that affect us ALL and identified by ALL areas need to be addressed and the CWU needs to be careful what it choses to stand and fight on - if indeed it chooses to stand and fight at all. The longer this situation drags on the more units will go into revisions of one sort or another which makes it more difficult to revert back to a "normal" achievable working regime.

The London Mail centre issue? Well it is what it is, if you cannot sustain the workload against the manning levels then the option is VR in whichever guise it presents itself. Most people I speak to would welcome it even in the current climate - it could well be the best option with the advent of privatisation when the terms may be less favourable, with pension issues as well.

FFS from now on you're an American..............blah blah blah stick your fingers in your ears and just ignore what's in front of you. In fact, because of you I think I'll be voting against saving Londons arse and I'm sure it'll not take much for me to convince all those in my office to do the same. Perception - Process by which people translate impressions into a coherent and unified view of ... CWU London, as opposed to the CWU as a national union.

Was it?
a) to add to the debate..
b) to prove that you had read(or had read to you  )...a book.
c) to throw in a cheap insult.
No, it was d) continuing the jokey thread. No need to go all offensively defensive Tankers, it's 2011 FFS and no one cares (about you and DV) any more..

But back to the point, why are you and DV, the known anti-union posters, making such a big deal about London and it's problems? Agents provocateur by the back door? (no personal pun intended there.. :silenced )

"The known anti-union posters"...known by who exactly?....you? :left:
Agents provocateur....really? :chuckle :chuckle...a bit "reds under the bed" paranoia for my taste.
Tman you are nothing but a childish, immature wind up merchant who couldn't give a f**k about London,it's problems or the unions problems as a whole....only whether you can get a cheap dig in at someone else's expense.
Now..."Go Away" :angel :wave ....by whichever door is your personal preference.

Wells its not just folk on here that spread the perception and its not only RM managers,my CWU area rep has said 'that London
lot walk about with a bundle in their hand and knock off early etc etc' and hes someone that has been going down to national meetings/ tuc for 15 years,so the perception is also spread by reps

I havnt a f***ing clue if any of its true or not,all im interested in is trying to defend my terms and conditions.

Oops so sorry just a postie :d'oh!

1. North /North West London voted against the deal. Only a handful of branchs got a majority even when some recommended to the members to vote no.
Was that not what I said - areas? :d'oh!

2. The PEC on Monday will endorse the London ballot but the ballot is not about stopping mail centre closures it is because Royal Mail`s plan is at odds with the BTA agreement and will lead to complusory redundancies.
So lets get this right you as a Div Rep know how PEC are going to vote?

3. On what grounds can Royal Mail get an in junction ?
if wrong sorry but operational needs seem to require the closure of MCs and thats in the small print!

4. Now in terms of people doing other peoples work well the union has always been fragmented it was started as a federation. But its only in recent times that people do the work of others whilst they are taking strike.
And your point is? The CWU have allowed it so that is how it is now!

Now your right RMC will not change anything but it is important that there is two sides to an arguement put and that information on events is accurate. I and others will make our views known at the meeting at CWU HQs on Monday and at the National briefing on Tuesday .
Again as a Rep you try to defend the indefensible and as a Rep you know you dont have a leg to stand on sorry brother but you Div Reps need to work with the people you sold your souls to! Again if it come`s to a vote i will vote STRIKE and campign for a strike vote but the CWU has f*cked so many other CWU members over you WONT get the yes you need! Please work in the framework you thought was so good after the last IA and then "request" other CWU members lose money and jobs for you when you FAIL! or you have NO CHANCE!
