Do you know were the £8 comes from teebs?
ESOS and savings if I read the relevant paragraph in BT2010 correctly (see below)

Mail Centres, Collection Hubs and MDECs

A new (non pensionable) supplement to basic pay to all OPGs/OSGs in Mail Centres, OPGs/OSGs in Collection Hubs (who are not eligible to receive the Delivery Pay supplement) and Royal Mail CWU grades in MDECs pro rata for part-time employees. The supplement will increase in value as agreed in basic pay rises. It will flow through in 2011 and 2012. It will be paid 52 weeks a year at the rate of £8.00 per week and applies to new entrants. It replaces the first £8.00 of any PBS/ICS residual bonus payment in the Unit. In Units where the PBS/ICS payment is greater than £8.00, the amount over £8.00 will still be paid to existing recipients. Where the existing PBS/ICS payment is less than £8.00, the shortfall is funded on an ongoing basis by using the pool of money created by the former ESOS productivity scheme. The employees eligible for this pay supplement will also receive a one-off non-pensionable lump sum payment of £75 (pro rata for part-time employees) along with the first payment of the new supplement.

The above approach uses up the pool of money created by the former ESOS productivity scheme. Hence the ESOS scheme will cease to exist and will not accrue any future money

Fact 1:

There are 160,000 member of the CWU in the Postal Department.

Fact2 :

Over 100,000 of them are on deliveries.

Fact 1 + Fact 2 means deliveries will ALWAYS out vote the rest of the Postal Section combined.

Fact 3:

We Get a £20.60 Delivery Supplement

Fact 4

Mail centres get an £8 supplement

They ballotted indoor staff because the whole BT2010 agreement covered ALL FUNCTIONS. Ok you disagree with us coming out for London as you see and thats your right, and you see it MCs as getting a better deal again thats OK. But you could at least base those opnions on fact and not what you heard.

No one is going to strike because MC's are 'closing'!

What part do some of you not understand?
The announcements in London should send a very clear message to CWU members up and down the UK – Compulsory redundancies are back on the table. Our members in London face the prospect of being unable to move with their work or find suitable alternatives.

We have a review underway already in SW/SW (affecting Worcester Mail Centre) with the wider Division set to be announced in the near future. The situation that is developing in London could very soon arrive at our own doorstep.
we believe that if Royal Mail press ahead regardless – it will inevitably lead to compulsory redundancies. This is unacceptable.

That's right, the ones who couldn't even be bothered to vote when they had the chance to reject this 'deal of the century'.

FACT 5: 53,000 PEOPLE DID NOT RETURN A BALLOT PAPER

Just remember that a significant percentage of those who are moaning about the consequences of the Yes vote are probably ones who didn't vote at all :evil/mad.

2mins of a person's time to put a X on a ballot paper and post it, and they can't be @rsed. Yet the consequences of not enough No votes being returned will affect them for the rest of their working days at RM. They're are the ones who make me :arrrghhh
wandle i no mate av already said what i thort about them shower of shithouses.probably on this site now,yes you no who u our ye rats haha :nervous

We understand alright Postman, thats not the point!
We understood prior to the members ratifying the 2010 agreement, that if it went through the union was finished.
Those who negotiated and sold the agreement didn't understand that, they are begining to now though.

Thing is POSTMAN.
If one of your guys was CR'd without being offered a reasonable option for relocation then you would probably get all the support you would need.
But it hasn't happened and until or unless it does and i hope it doesn't,you're dealing with what the union believe to be inevitable.
Now it's hardly surprising that the membership don't trust the union's beliefs is it?
That's something the union have to deal with first, even in London before they ballot anybody.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I know i know i know.
The scum welched on P&M and took my 4 day week away,i had to strike to get it back as per the agreement.
Now the scum again are welching and they will again and again and again.

It will never stop no doubt.

But if CR comes in for those at the MC's whether they be in London or not then what's next.

Just to clear it up for myself & maybe others
Does the threat of an industrial action ballot in the LTB, mean a national ballot or a local one ?

At the moment the ballot will be for the effected sites ie Nine Elms , Rathbone Place , East London and the Mount. But we will look at balloting the rest of the London offices as the fact is where they recieve there work from will change making deliveries later.

In addition the union will look at Balloting Greenford , Romford , Jubbliee and Croydon.

Now there is no talk yet of a national ballot but the question everyone should ponder is does the rest of the union want to stop complusory redundancies or do they stand back and allow it as its easy to hide behind the fact that people are pissed off of the last agreement. Those who stand by will face the same threats as the ones who face it now.

Ps Dvbuk Royal Mail are trying to get agreement off the government to still have an age limit.

Well that was made pretty clear thanks dingo for the update.
Sure that is the strategy for now but I imagine it's a "fluid" situation and open to change.
Let's see & hear what 29th brings.

Not hideing dingo.

Certainly no more than you were last year or in 2007 about the need for an agreement, it seemed any agreement would do.

The 2007 was a national agreement full of local negotiations, 2010 added yet more local negotiations.
To many rank and file CWU members this now looks like a local problem which is how their problems are viewed.
Added to that not only will thier problems not be addressed by any national ballot, in all likelyhood the CWU nationally will take credit for engaing with change/modernisation.

Being a strong area in a strong national union makes you strong.
Being a strong area in a weak national union makes you weak.

Dingo, i've seen you post on this site that the original draft of the (suposedly) independent Hooper report as shown to the PEC was okay till Lord Mandaleson got hold of it.
I've heard a member of the PEC make this claim at a sparsely attended public meeting.
I believe you's both about that. Why has no one from the union made the point loudly in the media and in the press?
If the PEC members are afraid to do this then who's hideing?

RM are renaging on all parts of the 2010 agreement. So it should be a nationwide national ballot and get a huge YES vote. Not for the cwu headquarters, Dave ward or anyone else in headquarters or Londond. We don't let the divide and conquer. It's hundreds of years old We do it for us, our terrible working conditions, the horrendous bullying still happening in MC's and delivery offices. For our own pride, we stand united against oppression!!!
