That will be to decide how to fight their fight for release and funding NOT your fight for justice................the professional union bods are a waste of space, a bunch of chatterers who got us into this mess and shouted from the rooftops what a good deal this was.....in fact to quote a well known orator...............the deal of the century................well I always thought that was a 100 years not a 100 days!BLACKHEART wrote:Iam hereing that all area / divisional reps have been called to a meeting in London on Tues30/03/11 !!!?? .

Re: will they ballot us AGAIN!?
I can't argue with any of your points belle because i agree with them and have argued the same.belle smith wrote: Royal Mail want it all sure they do.
If we go on strike Senior CWU bods will be stating the reason is RM are not hounering the agreement. They wont be saying forget the agreement it's dead.
All the s**t that came with the agreement would still stand unlimited delivery spans, unacheavable performance standards inspite of the fact that every (as far as i can see) wsm revision deployed is an unmitigated disaster.
Have you seen our area rep recently Fishtank......i haven't he was posted missing during the 6 stage process, turned up to sell the revision and has since been posted missing again, which might be okay if the revision worked, but it doesn't. If it appears not to redgister with our area rep why would it redgister with HQ.
If the union were seriously taking up the point that the DO revisions don't and can't work and that RM's plans for delivery in practice have been a disaster, then fine but they wont do that, even if they said it i don't think i would trust them.
Since this obviously effects our CMA colleagues as well will they be strikeing too?
It would take a clean slate to get the members back out and that would have to mean the union holding up it's hands to this shambles of an agreement...will that happen?...who knows?,but without it there isn't a chance in hell of a ballot for strike action never mind a strike.
As far as our Area Rep is concerned we have had the same experience...saw him during the strikes...disappeared..back to sell the agreement....disappeared...back to sell the revision...disappeared.
I have spoken to him a few times on the phone so he is still alive...even if his career as a union official is threatening to flatline.
Our CMA colleagues...i care as much about their jobs as they care about ours.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Sounds reasonable to me and good business to maximise your assets whilst you can and cut costs at the same time.................belle smith wrote:yestheboropostie wrote:Was mail centre review part of the agreement? On this occassion they may be getting treated worse, Royal Mail want to sell the land from the MC's they close. Royal Mails plan involves moving work which is currently carried out in London, to outside London.

I fully agree with you on that Fishtank, but it wouldn't look good for the senior managers board members, higson and co. To have managers and posties all out togeather though.fishtank wrote:Our CMA colleagues...i care as much about their jobs as they care about ours.

Re: will they ballot us AGAIN!?
This thread should be called cloud cuckoo land.............we've heard the usual, London might ballot for strike action...........well so they may but it'll certainly destroy them, because nobody is going to come to pull their nuts out of the fire this time.
There is no way that the CWU will strike again ..................ever. As for the last 7 years Royal Mail will do just as they please with or without the unions blessing by promising to include the CWU in all aspects of the business plan and promptly reneging on the deal. Not that that stops the professional union bods stating what a great achievement it is to still be "at the table"..............even if they are just bent over it.

letting everthing happen and not letting members know wtf was going on.

Where do you work DO or MC?
I would expect a big yes vote from the MC members in London on the back of this announcment.

Re: will they ballot us AGAIN!?
You sound like me, before I realised just how shyte this union is. Of the last three or four agreements, for which I lost a fair few quid through striking, there isn't a God-damned thing I can point to, and say, "well Dirty, me old mucker, that was well worth losing a grand over," not a blessed thing.norwichchris wrote:It's a definate yes from me. Everybody out! Dirty strike breakers get out of my sight.
I'll strike to regain what we've lost, but it must be made absolutely clear, that's why we're going out.
As for me striking to get management to adhere to an agreement that doesn't do posties any favours whatsoever, forget it.

Well he wouldn't because he represents London.............and somehow confuses the aspirations of other areas with those of London who always seem to be a special case........theboropostie wrote:In the north east we are going from 9 mc's to 3!!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: will they ballot us AGAIN!?
Well to put things in perspective the office I am in has had P&L for 2 and a half years, last year we had the DM Revision which completed the totality of P&L and the use of HCTs, LCTS and the WSMs are up and running and sequencing mail.................we have lost 3 members of staff and recruited 21 new part time members since January..................so a net gain of 18....................now just run through again why it is we would ballot?
The ones who will want a ballot are shall we say............lagging behind in terms of productivity
