Re: What should be the unions response?
The Savoy has just reopened, i'm sure CWU and RM can get together with ACAS
for a fact finding mission for a month
and discuss the issues on the failed revisions
and the fact that phantom shares are now worth nothing. And after a month of hard Mass-debating
with each other. They will come back to the postman with a great new deal that promises brilliant rewards.
But still with the hidden clause that was missed by most in the last agreement. (IF's and But's)

A new deal is worth at least 4 months idle chatter.

Can the members afford it? Bearing in mind there's a shortfall in the rewards expectations.fishtank wrote:Are you kidding?dill24 wrote:The Savoy has just reopened, i'm sure CWU and RM can get together with ACAS

Re: What should be the unions response?
when these two go into discussions with r/m i always fear the worse, it seems everytime they come out of talks we have to loose something, if you look back over the years you'll find we lost.... double time..improved holiday supplement.....lesser hourly rate on overtime...early shift allowance..d2d supplement, there may other things i havn't mentioned or forgot about but this is simply poor negotiating on members behalf, so matbe they should leave well alone b4 we end up working sundays for nothing, it seems r/m just take the piss out of 'em and must have a good chuckle when they walk out of the room.

That would be a fair statement of fact.brookstar wrote:when these two go into discussions with r/m i always fear the worse, it seems everytime they come out of talks we have to loose something, if you look back over the years you'll find we lost.... double time..improved holiday supplement.....lesser hourly rate on overtime...early shift allowance..d2d supplement, there may other things i havn't mentioned or forgot about but this is simply poor negotiating on members behalf, so matbe they should leave well alone b4 we end up working sundays for nothing, it seems r/m just take the piss out of 'em and must have a good chuckle when they walk out of the room.
Are the leaders of the union worth £100,000 a year when even an ordinary postman KNEW with absolute certainty that this agreement would NOT work, that the so called trust was nacht and nebel. The union thought it better to jump on board with Royal Mail than listen to the members and for that they are culpable and has cost them members and unless they can plait fog they are going to lose many many more.
