it is much better for us all if we get lost allowances consolidated in our pay rather than grandfathers rights that way it is not only fair that you are not standing beside someone doing the same job for different amounts but also it is safeguarded for us all and we don't lose it when they decide that our job has changed so therefore we lose it!!

I agree - even though it won't really make any difference to me one way or t'other.

This would be just another bone of contention for the future. We should be looking to consolidate every penny we can - once consolidated it couldn't be taken away - allowances on the other hand have a habit of having the goal posts moved.
