I'm glad to hear it.
Most of the people on here are not that angry about the colleagueshares themselves pants,it's just that the shares are yet another symbol of the accelerating weakness of our union when it comes to protecting their terms and conditions.
People are worried for the future not really the £200-£300 lump sum that would be spent by our WAG's or HAB's in a couple of hours.

Me too, which gets me to wondering how much more alive I'd be if I had even more money - I think incessantly of all the good I could do in the world, spreading my largesse to houses of ill repute, casinos, restaurants, car showrooms............course I'd probably sqaunder some as well.........after all none of us is perfect.

No you need to consider industries that are under real pressure, such as the tobbacco industry ( HD & WO Wills, Cuban cigar importers, Swan Vesta matches & lighter fluid ), public houses of all descriptions ( the death knell of local communities is usually heralded by the closure of the Post Office or Public House ), the British Motorcycle industry ( Triumph and Norton ) the British Automotive industry ( errrm....Jensen has restarted, taking old Interceptors, and giving them a nut & bolt rebuild ), and on all of this I will be giving massive support to the wider British economy with fuel tax, tobbacco tax, insurance tax, alcohol tax, road tax, VAT, income tax, as well as having to pay NI contributions.....that's the way to really help out ( unless my emigration to the Caymen Islands or Bermuda or the Isle of Man or another tax haven is approved - then I am outta here! )

You're right of course, and I will give British industries some consideration from some sun soaked cheap foreign island paradise, the Cuban cigar idea does have some merit................judging from the way they are supposed to be hand rolled on a young maidens thigh...........not that I smoke of course but I could certainly look into the manufacturing process

You understand that Cuba is in a tropical climate, so I feel compelled to offer my assisstance in your fact finding mission, as I wouldn't want the facts to be missed during any acclimatisation period, say 18 months, before the fact finding proper can begin....but of course the details can be hammered out at a later date ( though I do suggest giving as much time as possible to be sure our facts are spot on ) I'd best stop talking like this, any RM execs read it they will think I'm so full of s**t that I need to be promoted, and sent on a fact finding mission....but probably to places less agreeable than Cuba

My pleasure Teebs, and following on from your last comments, it reminded me that we have a few managers that are members here ( that have been very informative and welcomed here ), so it's not all "them and us" just as it's not every worker doing the job properly, and reading all agreements before voting, etc, etc. If edwardo wants someone to blame, maybe he needs look no further than the bloke next to him on IPS, or the next frame, or driving the bus....or maybe even the bloke he sees in the mirror
I totally agree Jim,I have heard people in my DO moan about the agreement,but when you ask them what is in the agreement,they don't have a clue.WHY vote for something you have no clue what it is about?They are the a**holes who voted yes for this s***y agreement.IF THE MEMBERS ACTUALLY READ THE PAPER WORK INSTEAD OF PUTTING IT IN THE BIN ,THEY MIGHT EDUCATE THEMSELVES.

Unfortunately the only paperwork put out by the CWU was in support of the agreement. IF you wanted to read the whole agreement and understand its impications you had to go hunting for it. Looking back I have to wonder if there were vestyed interests at work that relied on the apathy of ordinary members to get a Yes vote.
(for vested intrests I mean organisations not individuals)

If they do genuinely want these revisions to begin to work, bailing out of payments is the worst thing they could do, because i wont do anymore work toward mine, and im one of the most positive in my D.O.

me too!! i'd like to go out sunday evening and drink with my mates!! i can also pay back some of the money i owe to my parents,for bailing me out of buying a heap of a house,that cost 3 times what it's worth to buy!!! "get real and stop joking around with people on here"...we all have different circumstances in royal mail for many reasons.
I won't go into detail for obvious reasons but in my view members need to know the truth of what's happening and it's not the unions fault , it's the failure of royal mail's whole strategy which ihas now placed royal mail at risk !
The membership don't blame the union for the failure of Royal Mail's business strategy.
The membership blame the union for abandoning it's core values in following this strategy.
A year ago according to Dave Ward and Bob Gibson it was the future...now it looks like it has put all of our futures at risk.
The blame game is pointless,but responsibility is obvious and well earned.

I don't think that a zero figure is going to be announced but I'm more inclined to believe that cash flow problems will make it impossible for those employees wishing to cash-in this year to receive that cash. I therefore expect an announcement to either make us all wait another year, in the hope of cash flow improvement or as has been suggested a share instalment paid weekly over a set period.
In any cases, I really don't think it's healthy for you all to waste your free time worrying about issues which will be answered in just a few days.

What a wonderful suggestion, paid weekly, marvellous - except of course for those who retire in the next few weeks but who have worked since 2007 for those promised rewards?
just reading some of the posts regarding the agreement ,colleage shares and the future of the company . you didn t need to reach the agreement £ 20 for d2d was enough ,the future is bleak we just have to accept it the union is finito no power left and a strike is out of the question dont think they would get it through anyway . the majority of posties are just as pissed with the union as they are with the management THE END ROYAL MAIL . ps does anyone know who bill hicks was never heard of him !
