D2D PREP
On a monday i start to take my d2ds where im going and leave the rest in my frame, i only leave the smallest in the frame so it dosent clutter it up to much, ive been doing this for the 19yrs in the job. the problem ive now got is the relief who covers my run when im off [ who is a scab ] takes all the d2ds out of my frame leaving me not knowing where ive delivered to, when i complained to my screw he said i was wrong to prep the d2ds in the frame ?. So whats the normal practice in other offices, is he correct or is he only backing the scab.

I have to be honest and maybe slightly controversial here,my regular used to do this and i sometimes threw them out or just squashed them to the back of the frame.
Wasn't until we had a chat that she told me she used to forget to pull them out that it was sorted.
IMO there should be a clear frame, and it really is a pain when you follow someone that does what you do.
I would say the best thing to do is do it but when you're off the next day just take them all or do a row at a time.
All of our regulars now don't leave anything in the frame.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Symathise with you but imagine if your a relief. Your covering someones duty on a Tuesday. You come in and see a frame half full of d2d
.Relief has to do the prep and then carefully leave the d2ds in frame. Extra time. The relief does not get paid for d2ds I myself if day of say tuesday will leave d2ds till wednesday.

If Monday's your regular day off it should be easy. Take which streets/roads you rarely have a gap on on the Monday. You'll probably be able to remember 1 or 2 which had no mail so pop them on top of the frame.
Make sure your day off cover posty takes his 20% As he's a scab, you tell him which bit the 20% is. Naturally the most annoying bit to do households on.
Come Wednesday throw the remaining arseholds off and take where you're going. Unless you get those stupid newspaper sized arseholds you shoud be fine. By Friday you'll harldy have any left.
Also, by ensuring your day off cover posty takes his 20% you wont be shafted on a Wednesday when the stupid things arrive a day late and he's done bugger all of them. Least you'll only 80% left to do, not the usual 100%

We discussed it in our wtl and agreed that whoever does it on a monday can have the money (as long as they throw them off) an if it is the rest day cover the regular guy mops up and likewise the rest day cover guy takes where he goes the other days that way everyone gets a bite of the cherry. But after saying that there are 2 that will take them out if they are doing docket on duties that have some still on frame...........Yes they are strike breakers too! strange that eh! selfish bastards!!

Aside from him being a scab i sympathise with the relief (unless your walk is easy) reliefs get treated like cack, not having a regular walk (unless they are a floater) means they're never gonna have the time to pee about pulling mail out and leaving d2d in the frame when its time to bag up. I have a regular walk but remember when i was a relief.

Can't stand the friggin things! throwing them off is by far the most mundane, soul destroying job on earth...i normally get someone to throw them up for me and i just deliver them on thurs/fri. busy then so usually all gone in 2 days, then i half the payment with them.Easy peasy!!
if you aint payin..the mails stayin!!!
