Moved to Blue Shirts.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

From Postwatch.

At long last, Royal Mail has published its regulatory accounts for 2006/07. You can check these out here.

This is not an easy document to understand, so here are some headline figures:

First class stamps made a loss of £71M compared to a loss of £128M in the previous year – so a significant improvement in performance but still a sizable loss

Second class stamps made a loss of £114M compared to a loss of £115M in the previous year – so no change and still major losses

First & second class meters made a profit of £116M compared to a profit of £203M in the previous year – so a large drop in profitability

First & second class postage paid impressions (PPI) made a profit of £51M compared to a profit of £82M the previous year – so another fall in profitability.

Mailsort, Cleanmail & Walksort made a loss of £61M compared to a profit of £48M the previous year – so another reverse.

Downstream access made a loss of £44M compared to a loss of £14M the previous year – this is because of volumes more than doubling to over 2.4 billion items.

Other products made a profit of £111M compared to a profit of £121M the previous year – again a reverse.

Combining all the product groups in the price controlled area, for 2006/07 Royal Mail made a loss of £12M compared to profit of £197M the previous year – a significant reverse in fortunes.

Pg. 19 ROYAL MAIL GROUP = £53m PROFIT

GOD, THE ACCOUNTANTS HAVE WORKED VERY HARD TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A LOSS

Its taken them longer than last time, when they wanted to show a profit...then the results were anounced very early !

If we are running at such a loss then WHY isn't AL & AC offering to resign.....After all, the buck stops here......It is under their leadership that we are hemmoraging money.....They negotiated the down stream access PRICE, hailing it as a good deal for RM.......Now they've FAILED, they're trying to blame THEIR mistakes upon the workforce >>US<<

DO THE DECENT THING>>>RESIGN,

Let someone else have a go

After all, whoever takes over, they could hardly be any WORSE !

If these figures are to be believed (a big if) then the gruesome twosome should be sacked, not only for the figures but for the bonuses they (and their managers) took in spite of this. I`m surprised these weren`t announced long ago. Wonder why....

Wow I wonder if I should not donate my weeks wage to the two little blighters. If things are that bad maybee we should give them a hand(right out the f.u.c.k.i.n.g. door) . It really amazes me that this has come out now, do we believe them or not I think not
