Where can I go if no joy from union rep ?

I think having our union subs taken from our wages is in some cases working against us all, if the union had to come round and collect them you would at the very least get the chance of a face to face once a week.

It would financially cripple the union overnight and that is why we will forever be in the debt of our employer.
It makes for difficult negotiations when the employer has the means to destroy the union in one easy move.
It's a position we should never have allowed to happen but now we are stuck with it ...and what goes with it.

The scary thing IMHO is the fact that neither side is hiding that fact now.

Well, finally got hold of the branch rep. When asked why he hadn't ever called me back, he said he doesn't have time for this, he's not paid for this, and he's not going to ring me in his own time. O-k-a-y ... just where does that leave me ?? Apparently he and the DOM agreed I could take 2 days this week and 2 days next (to fulfil the Directgov directive). Still not what what I'd like but I wonder when anyone was gonna tell me ... And National Agreement saying I can carry up to 5 days over ? So what ?? Waiting on a call from the DOM now to arrange days off next week, 30 mins and counting ...

Sounds just like the type of bloke who deserves to represent the members, bet he's had training in ignoring people - do they run a course for that at Alvescott I wonder

Can't say I'm impressed. Area rep's e-mailed me, he's on leave. But he's agreed I can carry the days over. Only I can't. 'Cos the DOM (AND the branch rep) says so - "that's the way it is". Square one.

Like I've said if they had to work for their subs maybe things would be better for those of us that divi up week in week out.
