This time an "independent" valuer has been appointed.
Why....i have no idea.
It could just be that, with privatisation just around the corner Royal Mail do not wish to be seen to put even a "nominal" value on the company.SWIM wrote: should we be suspicious?
I would suggest not, it's more an independent valuation of the overall value of RM for potential purchasers so it wouldn't be in anyones interest to undervalue.SWIM wrote:should we be suspicious?fishtank wrote:Up until this year as far as i'm aware noggin Royal Mail valued the colleagueshares.noggin1969 wrote:SWIM wrote:does it normally take 7 months to value shares??![]()

A cheaper price would lessen the chance of any embarrasment.
huh? What like Post office counters which recieves a goverment subsidy.Big Daz wrote:Even if the shares are a decent value there is still the issue of RM being able to afford payout.
Despite all the doom and gloom about fianances the shares are based on the value of the Group which overall is in better shape I would assume than the RML component part.
You might want to give that statement a bit more thoughtdvbuk55 wrote:I would suggest not, it's more an independent valuation of the overall value of RM for potential purchasers so it wouldn't be in anyones interest to undervalue.SWIM wrote:should we be suspicious?fishtank wrote:Up until this year as far as i'm aware noggin Royal Mail valued the colleagueshares.noggin1969 wrote:SWIM wrote:does it normally take 7 months to value shares??![]()

Well, when you see a car on the garage forecourt valued at say £5995, that's not the price you pay and so RM will be valued accordingly and the price will be adjusted to whatever the buyer is prepared to pay. So it's valued at .........£8billion? and the buyer pays...............£14/10s/6dBELIAL wrote:You might want to give that statement a bit more thoughtdvbuk55 wrote:I would suggest not, it's more an independent valuation of the overall value of RM for potential purchasers so it wouldn't be in anyones interest to undervalue.SWIM wrote:should we be suspicious?fishtank wrote:Up until this year as far as i'm aware noggin Royal Mail valued the colleagueshares.noggin1969 wrote:SWIM wrote:does it normally take 7 months to value shares??![]()

They left the business and so would have received their total share entitlement, ours would be in two payments or half this year and half next year and as is often quoted - "shares can go up and down"POSTMAN wrote:I got this info as well.End of the road wrote:I have been talking to a couple of the lads who left on EVR late last year and they recieved £1,400 in share payments in the last week from RM.
