Need advice

Post by teewee »

This morning a friend of a friend had his appeal hearing against his dissmissal. Not to go into too much detail about it,but he has had a very difficult 18 months with a family bereavement and a cancer scare. This lead to him having 3 months off after the bereavement(during which time he also had a tumour removed). And it subsequently lead to him suffering severe depression. As a result of all this,it lead to him triggering a stage 3 warning.
RM decided to sack him for his poor attendance record.
Now he has had his appeal today and been told he will have to wait until the end of September for a decision to his appeal.
Today was his last day of service. So now he has to wait 6 weeks to see if he still has his job.
In the meantime, what is he supposed to live on.He cant claim the dole because he is noy actively seeking work. What is he and his family supposed to live on.How is he supposed to pay his rent?
Does anybody have any advice for him?

Hello there..I've been there,i won my appeal 2 years back, sure enough the benefits agency make it difficult to obtain benefit as you are technically not a jobseeker..however your friend CAN! sign on as no-one is expected to live on fresh air..however they will be required to pay it all back to DWP if theyr'e appeal is successful as they will get all thier pay backdated.I was out of work for 5 months over xmas no less,it was the most stressful time of my life,i sympathise with your friend as i know what they have in store..if i can be of any help if your friend needs any advise or just a chat by all means contact me.
if you aint payin..the mails stayin!!!
