Ill health retirment. Need help pls.

Hi, I've just received an offer to be ill health retired, and don't want to be short changed. Could someone please look through it for me.
Here is the offer.
Number of weeks pay in lieu of notice(PILON)-9 Weeks
Pay in lieu of notice payment-£3578.04
Number of days pay in lieu of leave(PILOL)_0 Days
pay in lieu of annual leave payment-£0.00
Overpayment-£0.00
Last day of service-11/02/2001
payment date 18/02/20011

Does this seem correct? Many thanks for any help.

Im 37 with 7 1/2 years service Its for anxiety and depression and i could maybe work again in the future.

I think to be fair while the guys on here will be able to give you bits,i would seriously see your ADR or higher for conformation.

The package seems fair enough if your happy to finish and believe you can work again.

There are cases around the country where conditions like yours have resulted in a Pension being paid. The amount of service and your age doesnt really come into it. Its the time the ATOS Doctor reading all your notes and meeting with you, believes your condition will effect future employment in a capacity and pay scale which you have been used to at the RM .
That is the laymans explaination.

If you feel it is worthwhile I would appeal through your Area Rep. However it must be done ASAP.

They also owe you a share payout. I think with a 7 and 1/2 years service you qualified for the full hit. You may have to wait for the payout however on the shares but they still owe you them.

Yes, those figures seem to be right. It can be confusing if you hear of someone else with less service getting more than that, but each case is different. If in doubt, you do not have to accept the offer of course.Presumably you meant last day of service to read 2011, not 2001!

No colleague will less service would get more - as long as they were contracted to the same hours and had the same allowances.


The only difference would be if the colleague were owed leave.

The only difference in staff with longer service would be the amount of notice given which in most cases is 12 weeks instead of 9.

They finished me on IHR on oct30 2010. was told I would get my shares a couple of weeks after my lump sum payment, Im still waiting. Rang HR and they said they are on hold as they re-calculating them. I will keep ringing every few weeks. As for your amount, it sounds good. I didnt get much more and I worked 20yrs. Mind ya. still not working as injury ongoing and still backwards and forwards to hospital ect. living off my payoff as DWP stopped my benefits as they said I was fit to work, so thanks RM. you ruined my life. lost my home and everything in it too. had to move back in with parents. good luck with what you decide.but make sure you get all you should.

I wouldnt say the deal is 'good' . It is the agreed figure which was agreed in 2009 by the RM and the CWU/CMA.

My heart goes out to you Debbie, Its a story which is not unusual however. Many Fomer Colleagues who have been given IHR by ATOS end up being referred by DWP to ATOS when claiming ESA only to be told they are 'fit to work'.

It should be noted that colleagues who are near to IHR need to be ultra careful when trying to get out of RM.

The appeals process should be used when needed in ALL CASES.

Excuse me returning to this but how many years service gets 12 weeks notice instead of 9?

I believe it is 10 years+ I had 24 years service.
I recieved 34 weeks pay + 12 weeks P.I. L all non-taxable but I am still waiting for my "Colleague Shares" !!
