All were in last week
All were seperated and placed beside each walk frame ready for Monday morning.
When we went in on saturday so we could see what we were up against.
We have three days to deliver.
They are only A4 envelope size.
They take up less space and weight than last weeks DTD's (5 per walk)
This week every walk has 1 or 0 DTD's (coincidence???)
I will take one to every address with mail today and tomorrow (usually light days), and everything that is left on wednesday (Always a heavy day)

What is the problem ???
It's what we do for a living.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

Delivery of the items in England and Wales is due to commence from Monday the 7th March with the items targeted for delivery on the 7th, 8th and 9th to avoid the heaviest delivery days of the week.
<snip>
The items themselves will be C4 in size and addressed to the 'Householder' and are expected to weigh 0.129kg in England, N.Ireland and Scotland. The Welsh version will weigh 0.214kg due to being a bilingual version. This indicates that there will probably be weight on delivery and replenishment issues to deal with and suitable arrangements must be in place to deal with this. It is important for Branches to note that this is a valuable contract for Royal Mail which was won in the face of stiff competition, and we hope that there will be a mutual spirit of cooperation when dealing with local arrangements to handle these items.

All the items will be in Yorks and trays and will be walksorted to deliveries.

so in other words, the union leaves the DO's to fend for themselves?
what happened to walk sequencing? they only mention walk sorting

what rhino did, is the same way i delivered them, and is a good way but it made the trolley over full capacity/recommended weight. there's less days to do them in unlike d2d's. it all depends how the manager treats this, in this circumstance, the manager would be keeping a close eye trying if possible to get it all done in mon/tue.

is belated and absorbtion cancelled/banned in other offices because of the census?

none today but still went over as the council had their monthly letter to every address and i didnt do any d2d's as they should be prepped, as im in pays de galles (wales) thats 5 censuses per kg, i can see major arguments/issues brewing in my office and particularly me as im not doing overtime and my walk wont be knowhere near prepped when i arrive especially with no d2d's done! oh and apparently my doms been suspended so the other useless managers will botch it up even more.

useless

Monday is a very light day in our office. I had 4 SDs and half a York of packets, all of which I knocked out between 745 and 900. So as far as the census goes I did all mine today as all I had to do was bag drops and when you have 300 address points all with communal letterboxes it makes life very easy.
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.

That's what I did today and it wasn't too bad; at least it was walk sequenced.

I did and though I had 3 extra bags I was able to plan it not to take any longer than usual. Did get stopped once or twice though by customers telling me I was walking in the wrong direction :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

Wasn't as bad as I expected but ours was Walk Sorted not Walk Sequenced.

Delivered the lot today - not a problem.

Easier than a lot of the flats that we get on a regular basis. Expect to get well and truly stuffed with the 'normal' flats on Thursday and Friday.

Sympathies though to our Welsh colleagues with their multi-lingual, heavier version.

Walked in this morning, 0 censuses prepped. Left a quarter of a row of my walk, barely took any censuses. Was warned that it was MY responsibility to get them done by the end of Wednesday - told the manager to frak off. Spoke to the union rep and the 2ic. Am severely pissed off, may well hand my notice in tomorrow. This job is just utter wank and I'm sick of the c*nts.

Don't hand in your notice.
Get them to explain how you are supposed to get them delivered if you are not allocated sufficient time to do so.

One down, two to go (water rates and council tax).
