Don't waste your time Clash.
I think it's time we had a Royalmailchat creche.
Some swings and a chute and a softplay area for the kids to play nice. :cuppa

Why doesn't your DOM simply change your start and finish times?
If there is no operational reason why you should be starting later, why not just move your start time back 30mins or whatever?
Then you wouldn't need to go in "early" and you wouldn't be able to "gloat" about finishing before your time.
If the manager moved his start time back 30 mins he would just come in 30 mins before that, you would think that calling it "start time" would be a clue as to when to begin our work, but obviously not! :left:

Did you read the post or were you too busy playing with your question marks? ? ? ?

I asked why doesn't your manager change your start and finish times?
Why does that make me STUPID????

And you are gloating.

Oh dear clash . oh dear INDEED ! ! ! Let me explain it to u as if you were a 3 year old child ok ?? Are you ready ?? OK lets begin .

If someone is paid from 9 - 2 they get paid x amount of wages . Following ?? good .

Now IF some bad jealous monster GRRRRRR wanted this man to start half an hour later then he will be working for LESS money ! ! ! Yes i know its simple .

Now the monster GRRRRRRRRRR doesnt make sense . if the start times change and finish times change its still gonna make the good guy do the work in the same time .

UNLESS his finish times stay the same . But monster GRRRRRRRRRR isnt too clear about this . Either way monster GRRRRRRRRR loses HOORAY ! ! !

Calpsy you obviously haven't read the site rules about not name calling, not using caps lock and not calling people managers.
Let me try one last time because you seem to have difficulty understanding.....

If for example your contracted hours are 8am - 2pm but you actually work 7.30-1.30, why doesn't your manager simply change your contracted times to reflect this.
It doesn't mean you would lose any money. It simply means the actual start and finish times would reflect the reality of the situation.
It isn't rocket science.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

For clarity (and because I know you can't be bothered to find this yourself, and make the effort to read it. :arrrghhh :d'oh! Here's the message you misread:

Then you wouldn't need to go in "early" and you wouldn't be able to "gloat" about finishing before your time.
I'll even break it down, so you can comprehend it:
The first line, you already seem to understand. But then we get to the complicated(?) bit:

"If there is no operational reason why you should be starting later" In other words: If there's no reason why you NEED to start at your actual start time.
"why not move your start time back 30 mins or whatever?" In other words: Why not change your contracted hours to match what you're working now.

The last line, you also seem to understand.

Blimey! You're hard work sometimes Calpsy! :d'oh! :arrrghhh

And as Clash has already pointed out: If the name calling continues, we (the Mods/Admin) are going to have to take some kind of action. I've already warned everyone to stop the name calling in here, once. I only have a limited amount of patience. :d'oh!

Calpsy...Why bother posting at all if you are just going to go back and edit your posts?
In my opinion that's just a cheap attempt at making others look foolish and i hate to break the news to you...it's you that's looking less than mature.
Wise up..for everybody's sake. :cuppa
