each to their own. :cuppa
It's something I've always done, whatever job I've got at the time ( I think it's from using public transport for years, and covering bases in case I missed me bus or trin was cancelled - and it don't hurt now with the bangers I drive, if something goes pop, I got a chance to change into my bike gear / get to the station. )
I don't suppose your mouth bleeds every 28 days, does it?

World of difference.
40 minutes to 'settle down'?
come on.
Takes that amount of time for the roofies to kick in
Oi, insult me again & I'll punch your clock....NEVER call me a manager again!!! :evil/mad

Do you really think management came up with the whole concept of park&loop then took one look at your big strong militant office and s**t themselves?
Really....? :funneh
Come on flyer...even for you that's pushing it a bit. :chuckle :chuckle
Of course i'm not saying that :chuckle

But let's be honest plenty of offices are letting themselves get shafted. How many people come on here and post that they're not being paid OT, are being 'forced' to work over, 'forced' to do collapsing, threatened with walk tests etc etc. Plenty of RM managers and DOM's are outright c*nts and unless people start standing up to them nothing is going to improve.

I can quote lots of reasons why you should not come in early,
but you are only a fool to yourself if you think you can get away with it for long!

Far too many people still have this job & knock mentality, you've got to get it out of
your brain.
Your duty start time is your start time, and your duty finish time is your finish time, simple!
Wait till we are privatised, and see what happens....
Maybe you mean LOSER ? ? Theres a difference .

OK start on time and finish on time . OK i finish an hour early . what do you want me to do ? ? ?

This should be good .

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You can do some of my six trays of outstanding deads, with some mail dating back to around Xmas, until your contract finish time! :left:

Throw in the D2Ds for some walks, perhaps the known "problem" ones, in that the duty holder struggles to finish on time?

Sort some ASAP?

My manager allows me to come in early and allows me to finish early. I take full advantage of this and spend my late mornings or early afternoons with my family or improving my golf swing!

Also Nike running trainers are the best thing ever invented!

It's wrong to suggest these types don't take a 40 minute break each day......try spotting them when there's IPS to be done.

Why doesn't your DOM simply change your start and finish times?
If there is no operational reason why you should be starting later, why not just move your start time back 30mins or whatever?
Then you wouldn't need to go in "early" and you wouldn't be able to "gloat" about finishing before your time.

Why if you started half an hour earlier and finished half an hour earlier would you be down on your money?
Did you read the post or were you too busy playing with your question marks? ? ? ?

I asked why doesn't your manager change your start and finish times?
Why does that make me STUPID????

And you are gloating.
