I was angry that we let them off the ropes and believe we should have kept punching, but now, despite some of the crap deals headquarters have got us in the past, I have calmed down a bit and am willing to believe we should give our negotiators a chance. If they screw up then we can show them how we feel, either way, we need to move on.

I also believe we should be using the time to unite with other Unions that are gearing up for Industrial Action. The last thing we should be doing is sitting around waiting. Lets get ready to escalate, and lets make sure Royal Mail and the government see us gearing up and getting ready. We can still put the pressure on them without IA. We have made a lot of new friends in other Unions and Political groups, lets now take the chance to build and strengthen those ties. The Nurses, Unison health workers, Teachers and many others are fighting for more than just pay. They will have been watching events unfold for us and planning their own actions, now would be the Ideal time to show unity. This government needs to worry, and it will do if it feels a winter of discontent heading its way.

Its easy to feel contempt for strike breakers, but while we have this lull and where possible lets try and bring a few back into the fold. If they still aren't interested despite being shown they are on the losing side then f**k em', We can always push for the shites to be kicked out of the Union at a later date. Remember this is only a suspension of IA, and if things kick off, it would be nice to see Royal Mail managers faces when more and more people see them for what they are and start supporting the Union.

Obviously managers are just money whoring strike breakers and are beyond redemption, so we wont waste our time with them. But it might be an idea for us to start asking the union members in UNITE why they tolerate associating themselves with the lowlife?

NOW THAT LEIGHTON AND CROZIER HAVE CAVED IN DAVE WARD AND HIS RELEVENT NEGOTIATERS WILL HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY GET AGREEMENTS THAT DONT PUT MEMBERS AND REPS UNDER THE COSH FROM MANAGERS PUSHING FOR SAVINGS ETC LIKE THEY DID WITH THE EFFECIENCY AGREEMENT.

I`ve lost all that pay for what? Rm have saved a fortune in wages, the strike hardly got a mention in the mainstream press and now the union have all but handed the initiative back. If talks fail, which is likely, then we`re back to square one with less support from a more distrusting, sceptical staff. Less willing to lose more pay for a "seemingly" worthless cause. AC & AL must be pissing themselves laughing.

The strike action was more effective than CWU PEC ever expected. Along with the massive lobbying campaign, it has achieved its immeadiate objective. The loss of pay is a very worthwhile sacrifice!! It may be necessary to go out again, but we'll be ready and willing if that happens.

I remind you that our union (organisation and membership) successfully fought off privatisation in Thatchers regime. How many others can say that?

I hope you're right there my friend,a huge amount of brothers & sisters are really upset the strikes were suspended,i think they would of prefered talks first,many people think ROYAL MAIL and its representitives are not to be trusted.

Word at LDC Thursday was that the talks are going nowhere. What a surprise!
So RM has cleared the backlog, the members are demobilised, and don't forget any further action requires 7 days notice.

With the greatest of respect to you my friend,how do you know this?there is a news blackout for want of a better explanation!!We all know the talks are going to be difficult,so i think its best we wait and see what/if the final agreement is.
