Ministers slam ‘poor taste’ of serial killer stamps

Cabinet ministers, party leaders and MPs from both sides of the house joined in the widespread condemnation of Royal Mail’s ‘insensitivity’ and ‘poor taste’, while company bosses fought back, defending the stamps as ‘reflective of our cultural history’ and even ‘art’.
“It is vital that we reinvigorate the image of post itself,” said Royal Mail spokesman Gareth Spade.
“Special Issue stamps like this give us a more contemporary, edgy feel which in turn broadens our market into a society raised on the internet with a declining interest in letters.”
“Let’s be honest, most of our Special Issues have been crushingly dull. Cats. Whatever.”
“Since the launch of this range, however stamp sales have risen an unprecedented 500%. They’re being snapped up in huge quantities by collectors both here and abroad. The Royal Mail must move with the times like everyone else and, frankly, this is only the beginning.”
While refusing to comment in detail on future Special Issues, Mr. Slade admitted that in the current economic climate “anything is possible.”
“These stamps have been a massive commercial success. Who knows where we go from here? Genital piercings. Musicals. Animal bums.”
But it does make me wonder whose faces would we like to see on the stamps. For me it would Alan Leighton, Adam Crozier, Moya Greene, Dave Ward and Billy Hayes....reason is so i could take my biro each morning and put a big heavy mark across their faces just to make sure they didnt slip through the postal system without being endorsed....probably the nearest thing im ever going to get to revenge
