We don't even need half of them, maybe that's something i could mention to moya.
Same numbers in my office. They are about as useful as a chocolate teapot :cuppa
TBT reminded me....add 3 acting lineos to that list :cuppa

Now...Approx 60 staff. 1 DOM and 2 Linos. (But still only 1 coffee machine, surely they should have 1 each)

Approx'
32 walks,
4 driving duties,
3 phg's,

officially its 1 DOM & 1 line manager at our office,
but we regularly have a trainee manager (at least 1  ) like last week and this week,
quite often we've had 2 trainee managers in our office, so possibly 4 gaffers in all at times.

Well I have been gathering some evidence their main tasks seem to be.

1. Moving empty shrouds and yorks from one part of the office to another.
2. Proving additional support to their belts by keeping their hands in their pockets.
3. Testing the breaking system of yorks by leaning against them.
4. EMail disposal.
5. Providing extra structural support to the walls of the office.
6. Keeping the Canteens turnover as high as possible.
7. Coffee machine replenishment and continual consumption.

They also seem to have a strict exercise regime:

1. Twiddle thumbs.
2. Texting fingers.
3. ... No restraint on calling people when off sick.
4. ----- restraint when organising staff holiday picks.
5. Running from the office when last delivery member has been sent out.

Lino? Oh they are the ones that when you have a problem and you tell them they send you to the DOM for the answer.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

That must be the upgrade - we have to make do with LineManager Version1.0....you know, the one where you ask them a question & the only answer they have is "I'll get back to you..."
