Re: ill health lump sum retirement
Atos doctor phone call= 2 weeks to DOM letter inviting you to meeting for IHR discussion=
app. 5 days notice of meeting ( which was conducted really well IMHA).
Meeting= (assuming you agree with IHR)
9 weeks PILON
34 weeks lump sum
+? outstanding annual leave
They will usually give you a breakdown of lump sum and PILON.
You are also entitled to collegue shares but these are under re-evaluation at the moment, but apprently we will qualify as "eligible leavers" and get the payment when they have been completed.
Few days for letter and summary notes with possible breakdown of payments for you to agree and sign( I say this as this is the process I am going through at the moment) Everyone elses might be a little different.
Then two weeks to final payment via bank and payslip, then goodbye!
Hope that helps?

Re: ill health lump sum retirement
Hello Pillow
Thanks for the info very helpful, Can you tell me if the Atos doctor has it right in telling me that you have to be sick 9 months After her phone call?
I have been off for over 9 months and she called and said it would be another 9 months from date of her call for me to be eligable so making it 18 months in total.
This sounds a bit wrong to me as it is only after the first 9 months that atos told me of the option to go for IHLS so in effect they are saying thier time line is,,,,,9 months sick till you get the call stating the option, but then a further 9 months to be eligable?
I have had many calls from Atos over the period of sick but this was the first from thier doctor as such. she should know they have constantly been it touch with me and so realise her call is not the first time of speaking to them.
Any further info would be a big help mate.
Hope to hear from you,
Thanks again.

Re: ill health lump sum retirement
No that's not right. I've only had 3 weeks off with my injury. 6 weeks in total over 3 years. But due to arthritis setting in, a year of rehab, going out on duty again, injury as bad as ever. So obviously I'm not going to be able to go out and do a duty again. Been to ATOS, recommended IHR and have the meeting with sector manager next week. So in answer to your Q absolutely not, but every case is different.
