Well, if it's anything like the specimens we're regularly lumped with, they'll be ex-posties, and not too long ago, either......And will amply demonstrate on a daily basis their oh-so-obvious lack of wit and intelligence to organise a pish-up in a brewery, were they ever told in no uncertain terms to organise said pish-up, in said brewery.

If you're thinking about fast-tracking your career then I'd steer clear of operations management jobs. Get yourself a decent result and you will be eligible to try and get on the graduate scheme. Go for something HR related or business management as they love all that stuff. If you can do a course with credits towards Chartered qualifications like CIMA or CIPD you'll be quids in and have more opportunities when you inevitably want to leave.

Why don't you become a rep and try and make your way up the union structure?

The CWU is being shat on because of the shortage of brain power. Don't get me wrong, the management are probably thicker than the union but management have the resources to hire in brainpower from law firms.

These law firms bribe the smartest graduates to join them with offers of high starting salaries. It's only a few years down the line that these graduates start to question whether it's a good idea to spend their time f***ing up brave people on low wages who dare to question injustice. By that time, the lawyers can't escape because they are tied in to large mortgages and school fees.
