There's a couple of lads take their car to some place near the end of their walk, as the reckon they'd otherwise be stranded. They don't take any mail, and reckon they have got the OK to travel to more than one place of work during the day. They don't need the bond, for what it's worth, and reckon they will continue to do so after the revision, if it ever happens, unless of course the managers/planners organise transport back to the office.
Intresting :hmmmm

One of our guys has been doing this for years. There's no parking around our office after 1pm or you get a ticket. So he drives to work and parks his car at the end of his delivery at 5.30am. He then walks a few streets to a fellow postie house where he gets a lift in to the office.

He gets a lift out to his delivery by a support driver to a sub BO, picks up a golf trolley then walks his delivery . He finishes back at the BO leaves his trolley, delivery card and any docket lefts (the collection driver brings them back) then walks to his car and drives home.

I Cant see his doing anything wrong, its the best of both worlds
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

In most offices there should be scope for drivers to pick up our colleagues so they can finish their shift there then pick up their cars.
If there is not scope then the driver has to cut off,but i'm guessing there is scope and drivers would throw a strop if they had to do it.

Job sucks.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Exactly. There is scope for them to ring the office, wait for a van duty to to drop everything, pick them up, take them 8 miles back to the office to pick up their car, claim overtime, then drive ten miles past their delivery home. Longer day for them, van driver not happy and manager pays overtime that wasn't wanted in the first place.
