Ifwe have all this millions of pounds worth of new sorting machinery to make things quicker and more efficient. Then there is less mail as they keep telling us, why do they keep telling us that they cant get the mail out early to us anymore coz its not been able to be sorted and make us start later???   Waste of money buying all the new machinery when things ran smoother before.

It's all total b****x when we moved from 05.00 to 06.00 starts (now it's 06.12,39 hour week) we were told that it is due to the lorries only being able to to 56mph,funny that the first lorry still arrives at 05.00 and the second lorry still arrives at 06.45 meaning that we are still sorting the first lorry when the second one arrives.

We have three season ticket holders in our office for our local team,me included and at the moment we finish at 13.30 on a saturday, just enough time to get home, changed and off to the match,if we change to later finishes on a saturday,I'll leave because as many people have mentioned on other threads,I would like a life outside of Royal Fail.

As of next week our Saturday hours are 6.30-14.18. I'm not really bothered tbh, Mon-Fri hours are reduced by nearly 30 mins a day and I get 1 in 4 Saturdays off anyway.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

6.30 till 2.30 here now, (Monday to Saturday), so we cut off 1.25, drive back to office, unload van etc, report to manager explaining we've brought one of the rounds back (as per the rest of the week), then sign off 1.50 as meal relief at the end! We had an office vote a few months ago on how to do Saturdays, majority voted stay as we are, revolving day off with one in six Saturdays off, keeping the early Saturday finish, oops, we've been stitched up again, thanks Union!
