My first day today. Got paired up with my coach who showed me the ropes. Had to prep my bags even though I'm meant to be delivery only. Had four door to doors which are pretty annoying, no specials and only about 7 packets, very light day, or so I'm told. Went out on the bike as was advised against using my car and finished the walk in about 2.5 hours. The walk is well laid out, each bag ends right at a drop box. All in all a good first day and looking forward to getting out there again.

Turns out tomorrow is my day off which I'm going to work, with a 25 hour contract I need all the overtime I can get.

I'm with my coach tomorrow again and then the walk is mine for the rest of the week! Going to be interesting on my own lol. Then next week I've been told I'll be assigned my own walk which will be nice as I was expecting to be a floater.

Got given a brand new jacket today and ordering the rest tomorrow.

Finished for 12.30, home for 01.00, pretty good I think :)

Last week was my first full week doing a full duty since 'the knee' op and I could feel my knee getting worse. Went in Monday and told them I doubt I could complete a duty because my knee had swollen up and was painful........got told to go home. This is day 3 of sitting on my arse and too be honest I'm getting a little bored of doing it

Tuesday and Wedneday, still getting my head around the new look walk. Wednesday did really show it up as a long drawn out thing. Shattered at the end. Went in today, day off, for just under 5 hours, ASAP etc. Don't think I would be prepared to do a walk on my day off now. They are long and very tiring. Haven't actually started using the HCT yet, just getting a feel for the walk and sorting out a few glitches, like the fact the walk was sequenced completely unlike how I actually wanted it. :d'oh!

We've got some new-starts in our office! They don't seem to have anyone to train them though. I worry for them. May we all utter a silent prayer for them tomorrow, when they'll probably be out doing the walk on their own after two days of "training".

Finished the second week using the HCT. Getting just a little upper back ache in the last half hour but its gone by the time i get home. New duty is taking me right up to my time and infact i went over a little and booked this week.

There is talk of absorbtion/ laspsing coming back in a couple of weeks but for me no chance with the HCT :left:
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Our office had some new guys/gals being trained up buy some1 who has been there 3 months! And he didn't know that he should be entitled(I believe) to extra for this role....or as he sees it some1 to do 1/2 his walk :dance

Anyhow, cant be any worse than the 'training' we had :left:

I think they put a stop to the training money. The Work Place Coach should be training new starters up.

The Workplace Coach gets £30/week and I don't see where it says this is pro-rata.
Anyone training as well is entitled to the daily training allowance.

Where there is more than one New Entrant commencing in the same week
Coaches will be required to provide a suitably experienced individual that the
New Entrant can shadow. These individuals will receive the daily non-school
training allowance for each day they are assisting with the Delivery Coaching.
