theres is a huge front page spread in the mail or is the express i cant remember today, about royal mail trying to push through with later starts..the papar is in uproar about it as will everybody else if this goes through.
now hopefully the public will see part of the reason why we have been striking..and not just about a crappy pay rise..
the regulator backs the late starts though..no surprise there really as they seem to want royal mail to go to the wall anyway.
ANNOUNCEMENT : ALL OF ROYAL MAIL'S EMPLOYMENT POLICIES (AGREEMENTS) AT A GLANCE (Updated 2021)... HERE
ANNOUNCEMENT : PLEASE BE AWARE WE ARE NOT ON FACEBOOK AT ALL!
finally the public are seeing what all the strikes are about

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Call me cynical but could the Gruesome 2 have known this was coming and that's why they have agreed to secret talks with no press releases. It means that the union cant respond to this officially, but what's stopping us lot.

Nothing to stop us TBT. I will be writing a letter for publication in The Mirror (I'll send it to Paul Routledge). Dave and Billy must have known this story was coming out too. People who thought the suspension of the strikes was a mistake will now realise that it was really a smart move by our leadership, so that our letters to the press could get through quicklyTrueBlueTerrier wrote:Call me cynical but could the Gruesome 2 have known this was coming and that's why they have agreed to secret talks with no press releases. Yet more braindead responses to the story on the Daily Mail web site.
"My mail's always late"
"We don't need mail, we have the internet"
What a set of mindless pr**s!
Late mail. Doesn't common sense kick in and tell them someone has to be delivered to first, and someone last.
Email replacing snail mail. So how do you email parcels and packets to someone?
God these feckless halfwits really grate my cheese

I read this article and it really was good to see, especially given that the Mail published it.(not exactly who everybody would have put up as a prime supporter)
I have read all the opinions on this site about the calling off or continuation of strikes arguments and can see everyones point of view(even a few of the public stopped me yesterday on delivery to say we should have still gone out).
However a modern day dispute like this will largely be won by getting the public on our side, and much more importantly the fourth estate(press).
The CWU had to be seen to carry on being "the good guy" so from a media savvy point of view there was really no option,am afraid that nowadays, thats just how thing are.
GOOD LUCK DAVE AND THE TEAM.
