A WTL brief that a lot of us got regarding doorstepping a long while back.
Copied into downloads as well.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

"Our competitors are ready to pounce . . ."

Yes, like the wonderful HDNL, who had doorstepped something from Amazon at a house I deliver to today. It looked like quite a big package, perhaps something valuable. It also appeared to be a little damp. No doubt my line manager will be coming up to me on Friday asking why I doorstepped a parcel at this particular address on Wednesday, and threatening the conduct code.

Interesting 'presentation'. I cannot believe how bad RM are at doing these. But that's a side issue.

I've always wondered how you are meant to bring all these undeliverable items back (bear in mind I don't have a van). As an example , yesterday I had 8 packets of various sizes to bring back to the DO. Do I balance them on my head ?

Maybe I should think of better solution and when I have enough packets to fill my paniers I cycle back to the office and drop them off. Along with the last bag I can't deliver .

That works for me. Or am I a cynic? And is it more about if you don't get caught , complained about then it has nevere happened?

Well you will have a van sooner or later or an HCT. I think you put yourself in a position of risk to solve a problem which is not yours to solve - you merely hand the problem to your DOM - if he tells you to doorstep you should point out that currently that is against RM policy and could you have it in writing.........................just to test his resolve in going against his masters wishes.

I have had similar conversation with my DOM and lino recently and the response was the normal management solution to any serious problem which is mumble a lot and walk off! :confused So yeah that advise would be great if we worked at a company where our managers actually gave a monkeys!
