I've heard £520 for full time staff and pro rata for part time staff. Apparently payable in April this year and same again in 2012. Reading through the share in success certificate should it not be a lot more.

No thats roughly what they have been saying for 2 years or so - £516 I think the figure was that I last heard mentioned.

Also the pro rata share is not based on hours per se but the amount of shares you have been issued with. The various different issues did depend on contract hours so if you changed hours in either direction you will get different amounts to those who have stayed on the same contract, at least thats how I understand it.

has anybody heard anything about the share in success scheme,there are a few rumours circulating in our office that it could be paid before april and it could be as much as £1200.as i said that these are rumours any info anybody,?

Just joined this site hello everyone. Read a union letter last week saying £534 this april and £534 next april. Postman left last year and got £1100 tax free of shares so these 2 figures could be right. Asked boss for date in april but he did'nt no.

ColleagueShares

ColleagueShares is a phantom equity plan that was started in 2007 to give our people a stake in the company's success.

The scheme has paid out £1600 to full time eligible colleages with a further £1000 available if targets are met of which £600 is funded by the ColleagueShare scheme.

The difficult outlook for the business means it is likely that colleagues will only receive the remainder of the cash bonus element. The ColleagueShares themselves are unlikely to have ANY value when they start to mature later this year. We will not know the exact value of the ColleagueShares until the end of the scheme in 2012.

Despite the fact that the ColleagueShares are unlikely to have any value, the additional £600 payment, which replaces a planned third tranche of 300 ColleagueShares is based on a value of around £2.00 per ColleagueShare.

The payments agreed in the Business Transformation agreement are not affected by this announcement..

Well thats an outright lie or a misunderstanding of the statement as the share payouts ARE part of the BT2010 agreement.

Looks like RM are already trying to split the CS from BT2010 to try and undermine any action the CWU may consider.

So we just don't cash in half our pretend shares this year, if they're worth little or nothing. They probably won't be worth any more next year, but it'll make it harder for them to afford to miraculously have RM worth a lot more next year, ready for selling. Remember: the more the business is worth, the more they'll get for it, when it's sold.

Afraid not Andy - The colleague shares values include the £8 billion pension deficit and the fact that RM are struggling to cover their obligations this year and next year as agreed with the trustees late last year. It was, and still is the longest pay back term for a pension - 37 years IIRC.

But when we are privatised the Governemnt take on the Pension and with a stroke of a pen (and judicious use of smoke and mirrors) the company looks £8 billion better off. As the colleague shares issue will no doubt be dealt with by then then thats (at an average 500 valued at 1.52 and 150,000 (rough estimates only)) another £114,000,000 added to the value of the company by not paying them out.

Also no doubt the companys requirement to no longer pay in IIRC £700 million each year agreed with the trustees, will also add to the value at privatisation.

IMHO its another exercise to transfer wealth from the working man to the boardroom.

Be grateful you still have a job and stop whinging about the shares.If you were one of the 1700 people who had just been told they are going to lose their jobs.you would have a lot more to worry about, but then again nobody gives a toss about anyone else in the job anymore.Once it gets PRIVATISED things are going to get a lot lot worse.
