Ermmm is it wise to give out all that personal info to a site that has just sprung up? :nervous

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

So 6,000 Post Offices are going to become Post Office Locals, with less services, no core tier payment and no holiday relief. Why on earth have the NFSP agreed to that?

I think that is the problem newsubbie, the membership haven't, nor has any policy been published that shows their union leaders have either.

Its all looking rather FUBAR

Looks like a letter is circulating the Sub offices - the one on my delivery is spitting feathers as with the new "local" tag there are a lot of changes and all of them affect her bottom line - she reckons its a ploy by RM and the Gov whohave publically said no more planned closures so they are pushing subbies to the limit so they close voluntarily.

From the outside thats exactly what they appear to be doing. Mind you they do have a track record of it don't they (DSA, liberalisation) .

What this basically seems to amount to is:

Open longer hours ('flexible')
Sell fewer products (i.e. no more car tax, BDC, financials etc)
No core tier payment
No new products (all new government services that have been promised will go to the 'main' network)

and your branch will be more 'viable'. erm how? How exactly will removing key products and services do anything other than reduce income?

The people in my village and the surrounding ones will (quite rightly) be furious. It's supposed to be a designated rural service area - library/gym/doctors etc for surrounding areas. Any restructuring should have at the most basic level looked at accessibility to 'main' offices and the distribution of them. Basing it on current branch remuneration alone will just leave huge areas many miles from their nearest 'main' branch, and the services that only they can provide.
