They would have no option but to change it it you cut off instead of doing o/t and in my opinion thats what everyone should be doing ...if you book the o/t then feck all will be done to aleviate the problem ..........i'll be working to my time if the work load is set at to high a level to complete the delivery in time :cuppa

Posties wanting the duties to be to large so they can work overtime vs posties wanting the duties just the right size so they can finish on time . I wonder which way of working would get the most votes . :hmmmm

If posties were allowed to cut off hassle free there would be no problem with the first option .

P&L in it's current form will never come in once we are privatised. 2 men looping with trollies is far too slow, slower than the way we currently work and time is money.

I'm guessing what's happening in my DO is what most will get - a tabletop revision using the vans that are already paid for. We've had a full P&L revision planned, the walks were done and a repick finished and it's all quietly disappeared.

Does anyone know if RM are unhappy with P&L or is it our imaginations running away with ourselves , RM might be saving a fortune :hmmmm . I'm happy working p&l , I've swapped finishing early with not having to carry heavy bags , a bargain and I think my back and shoulder agrees ..

park and loop will never work. for 1 tell me 2 people who work in royal fail that actually like each other ?
2. one of the posties is always quicker than the other so he either sits in rest room and waits for him.(cos remember the guy or lass you working with don,t like each other)so he will NOT give him/her a dig out.
3. so in reality all over the country you have loads of people in the morning afternoons wasting royal mails time waiting around doing nothing.
wether it be in the office or out on delivery waiting for them to finish there loops.
i know people who are doing this and so much time is being wasted due to one guy or lass being slower than other.
4. i bet if you asked 100 or 50 park and loopers if it is working they would say NO.
5. MOST PEOPLE ARE BRINGING DELIVERIES BACK ALL THE TIME.
6.the basic point is royal mail have had this idea for about 5 years now believe me i know cos i was told this about 5 years ago and it is a total backfire on them.
so all those EX postmen who are now managers who aint got a clue are now delivering cos they came up with idea but now they are delivering all the cut off mail that posty is bringing back :).
saw one near me delivering a bag at 5.30 and he had his manager his vis on . chuckle chuckle .

Sorry but RM won't care (and should they :hmmmm ) whether people get on with each other or not, its not really a good enoug reason to bin the whole idea. Also to be honest what about other walks of life where people have to work in pairs. We have to be adult about this, we can't refuse without good reason to work with someone we don't like we just have to put up with it to a degree.

If that happens then the one waiting in the canteen needs to become an adult - cutting your nose off because you don't want to help someone is chidish in the extreme. I could understand it if you were on different walks and looking out for yourself, but when you are on the same walk its

Thats Royal Mails problem (the outside stuff at least) if they cant be flexible in the outdoor element and build it into the duties then they get all there asking for.

See above.
thehissingcat wrote:4. i bet if you asked 100 or 50 park and loopers if it is working they would say NO.
Nothing to do with method though, its the implementation, lack of fleixibility and RM age old problem of trying to get a quart fro a pint pot.
thehissingcat wrote:5. MOST PEOPLE ARE BRINGING DELIVERIES BACK ALL THE TIME..
See above, but to add - I hope it continues until RM see sense. RM Managers do seem to suffer from the same affliction as Mubarek does - I know better, the people on the ground are just moaners. :left: :left:

I would have liked to have seen that, I bet his chin was dragging.

That might be ok for a while, but if the loops are even (or you're changing around day to day or week to week to even things up) and you're the one constantly doing extra, it will start to p*ss you off regardless of how well you get on with your partner.

Well you could just slow down to the same pace as your partner.
You don't get paid any extra for finishing first.
I'm not saying to a crawl...but it isn't a race either.

One of the finest moments since P&L has been introduced is seeing the managers having to go out and deliver cut off mail . :nana

Before you get too excited remember they are getting around £17ph to do what you get paid around £9ph for.
I would prefer to see managers...manage and the extra work bring....extra jobs rather than have these idiots
miss-delivering all over the shop in an attempt to hide their own failings.

I agree but just seeing them do a job that they probably think is below them and far to harder work makes me feel all warm inside .

Well said - they should make sure the job is done properly first (17 compared to 9 is not fair) as we need more F/T jobs within RM before we start celebrating.
