as i pointed out in a previous post, they,ve told us at our office, our last letter WILL be 3PM., THEN, back to the office, pouch of, rest of meal relieve etc. taking us to15:40. this is on a saturday as well.....when the rep was confronted about this, he said the whole country will be 3pm LAST LETTER. then when the union heirarchy came to the office, they also confirmed it.....we,ve been stitched good style. happy dayseaster bunny wrote:Thats LAST LETTER IN.
Then your trip back to the office which would take you to 3pm finish.

Re: 3pm finishes???
If that is an official instruction then they are breaking the working time regulations - Its in the regulations that the employer can tell you when (but not where) to take a meal break but it HAS to be somewhere in the middle of the working day.daveyeff wrote:as i pointed out in a previous post, they,ve told us at our office, our last letter WILL be 3PM., THEN, back to the office, pouch of, rest of meal relieve etc. taking us to15:40. this is on a saturday as well.....when the rep was confronted about this, he said the whole country will be 3pm LAST LETTER. then when the union heirarchy came to the office, they also confirmed it.....we,ve been stitched good style. happy dayseaster bunny wrote:Thats LAST LETTER IN.

The requirements are:
•the break must be in one block
•it cannot be taken off one end of the working day - it must be somewhere in the middle
•you are allowed to spend it away from the place on your employer's premises where you work
•your employer can say when the break must be taken, as long as it meets these conditions

totally agree, my arguement exactly, but when has it ever bothered these ****s about what rules and regs they break....when i mentioned that i would be taking my full 40min break BEFORE i go out on delivery, the reply came back, ' well you,ll just be finishing 20mins later then.....so fekn what!! they,ve knacked the saturdays up now anyways. what difference does an extra 20mins make.

Ask for a 318 of your duty in writing, start time, breaks, time out, first letter, last letter & duty end.
And see if last letter is planned after 3pm Inc break if it is you have an argument.
No duties should be planned (town) with last letter past 3pm.

Re: 3pm finishes???
agreement is 3pm town deliveries,4pm rural, mclovin wrote:The agreement clearly says "The vast majority of letter deliveries are planned to be completed by 1430 hours and most by 1400 hours."
So why they bleating on about 3pm finish times.
NONE of our office wants a 3pm finish time and we will fight to the death if need be.
Its is after all in the agreement we can finish at 2 or 2.30.

Been told 2.30 or even earlier will be the latest as we're a satellite office.

Re: 3pm finishes???
No-one will know what their final times will be until every single CSS machine is in place and every single D.O. has been assessed for closure, merger or relocation...and by then we will have a new management team in place with their own ideas for moving the company....forward/backward/sideway.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
