My leg has been fine since the physio for my AOD in 2008... but I think you're getting me confused with Stormproof lol

I've been as much use as a chocolate tea pot today. Nodding off in the chair, falling asleep watching a film and feel like someone has my head in a vice.

Sorry you're struggling too. I've had another meeting today, also ended up in floods of tears and now know I have come as far as I can with royal mail. They have no compassion whatsoever and I cannot be subject to any more bullying. Some of the things they have asked me to conform to are just laughable. In my upset and anger today I threatened to throw myself off a b*****y cliff and got told not to swear!!!! No concern whatsoever for my welfare and once again left the office in great distress in my car. How any human being can have so little concern for another, whatever the circumstances is beyond me. I will now try for IHR too and try to find someone to fight my case on the bullying, but I don't hold out much hope. I hate this company for taking my health from me because it took me so much work to achieve what I have.

They have a duty of care towards you and should not have let you leave in such a state. If anything had happened to you, they would have been liable IMO.

It's like when they send someone home because they're drunk or not fit for work etc, they're meant to make sure you physically get through your front door. To let you get so worked up and then have the audacity to say "don't swear" is a fuggin joke!

That's definitely a grievance right there.

And I feel the same about RM. They let my ex go around slagging me off and I did nothing and then it's me that gets shifted to another office. When I eventually had a mini nervous breakdown after dealing with the ex and the problem manager, they wanted me to come back a few days later. I told em no because I was waiting for the happy pills to kick in.

They don't know what duty of care is. I honestly think if I did go throw myself off a cliff they wouldn't bat an eyelid - they have no feelings. I cannot work for someone so heartless. I hate them. I have had a hard enough life as it is but just when I get on my feet, coping well etc - to then have something like this happen and take it all away is just heart breaking. I have to get away from this company, they have done too much damage already.

Next time you have an interview beg/borrow or borrow :whistle one of them little recording devices and get some proof. I could imagine the s**t hitting the fan if that went up the line. People with such a basic lack of human compassion shouldn't be in any position of responsibility! :no no

I think you have to inform them that you are recording them. Is it not the law?

No.

They way I understand it is you can record a conversation as long as there is not something specific in your contract not allowing you. However, you cannot use the recording as evidence in any hearing or tribunal. AFAIK you can only use it to make notes of the proceddings after the fact.

Personally, If I am called in for a meeting, I usually bring a colleague in with me, as a witness.

Rather than worrying about recording devices...take a decent rep in with you.
It shouldn't be about catching a manager bullying...it should be about not giving him/her the opportunity to bully and if you have a decent rep sitting next to you..i can guarantee you won't experience this crap in the first place.

I agree always take in a friend because if you become annoyed or upset you will forget what was said.

However I really don’t think Jasmine is up to any of this right now. The poor girls is in a real spin and I cant see how sitting through a difficult interview by two untrained managers is the right thing to do.

Lets be honest your average manager is fine for someone who has had a cold or took an odd Saturday off to go and watch the footy but a mental health disability or acute depression is well beyond a Royal Mail managers training.

They are clearly making the situation worse for her. :evil/mad

Most Mobile Phones these days, have a Dictophone (voice recorder) facility. But the hard part, is positioning it, so you get a clear recording, without making it obvious. Personally, I'd reccomend practicing with a friend/relative, beforehand. So you can find the best way of getting a good recording, without being seen. :hmmmm

But far more importantly. Get a Doctors appointment, and get some help. RM aren't worth going through what you are. Take it from one who's been there. I can't be certain how bad things have got. But I think it might be time to get a referral to The Crisis Team. They helped me get through it in one piece. You'll need your Doctor to make the referral. But trust me. It's worth getting them involved. They'll even be able to get RM to back off, 'till you're better able to cope.

Ask your doctor to write to human resources to explain the management are not handling it well. They might do something by arranging to see someone capable and prevent management taking action.

Thank you so much for all your support, I really appreciate it. I have had to step back from it all for a few days as my health has fallen a bit and I need to focus on that right now. I have got community mental health team to give me some extra support. I have also asked ATOS to help me try for ill health retirement. I need to get in touch with union still to sort out their harassment and poor treatment of me, but I have done as much as I can cope with for now. I have everything written down. I just hope I can find somebody who can take all the facts and fight for me as I can't do it on my own. I don't have much confidence in my rep but am hoping to find someone who can take it on and help. The man at ATOS has been fantastic and I trust him to help me. There is no way back to working for royal mail for me, even though I do know I can do the job. Thank you all for your help and support. I will let you know what happens and really hope I can get somewhere with challenging the bullying.
