Easy day and I finished at 11.45 not bad for 5.5 hours work. Lot of recorded delivery though.

Had basically nowt to deliver today. First bag was three tiny bundles, only the d2ds kept it from being one.

The frakkers still hadn't chucked it all out though. I hear tell that there was an average of between three and five mech bundles per walk - and there was a whole one waiting for me when I came in. Where were the full-timers? Well, by the look of the place (deserted), I'd say either on their second or third bags. Knobs.

I'm gonna flip tomorrow if it's not all chucked out. Literally, flip. I'm gonna demand answers as well. Our place is a farce with the amount of walks that aren't being chucked out. I could understand if we were short of full-timers or if the IPS was packed, but at worst, when I get in at 8.50, the full-timers are SAT on the IPS frames waiting for the last missorts, begging like children.

Got in at 9 after my day off yesterday, to find all the D2D boxes for this week still under the frame, unsullied by human hands. Office pretty much deserted.

Such a fantastically light day though, that prepped 500 of the blighters and still finished on time.

Yep rem that bit very well Our missort run was cancelled last year and most are running out the door by 8.30am .

Our new lino took over today after a couple of weeks of shadowing. Much stricter than the section's been used to, but fair.

Only had three boxes of IPS to prep at 9, plus all the usual, which meant I was walking at 10. Might seem a bit sad, but the difference (knowing you'll finish on time) is amazing. Was happy to chat to customers/give directions, instead of resenting the wasted time.

P&L is supposed to come in April so will enjoy it while it lasts

Has your office accepted P & L ? i heard a whisper its been scrapped !
all offices that have it already, keep it, all those that haven't, probably stay as they are.
like i said, it was a whisper, so maybe BS, same guy that told me, said theres no money for our wages in march (i've heard that rumour before )
all this came from a senior management meeting,
apparentley RM tried to cancel orders for vans required for P & L, but failed as they signed the contract to buy them.

Thursday was slightly easier than today. Packets were about the same. It's been a bit warmer this week so didn't mind being out for 4hrs+. Our revision comes in, or should I say part of it, next week. Will be interesting to see whether the planning stage has worked. I'm not entirely convinced that the ones using HCTs will benefit, seems a slow and slightly clumsy way of delivering. Ah well only time will tell.

Tomorrow's going to be a mother-frakker. Today was about expected on mail but sod all on the packets. My first bag had 0 (zero) packets. My 'busy' bag, which is usually all packets and a couple of bundles of mail, had just the one. I couldn't believe it. I'll be annoyed if we get a busy Saturday so that I have to cut off. In spite of the lightness of today I still worked exactly to my time - it's an art which, when perfected, can make every day last exactly the same length as another.

In other news, it was my day off yesterday (no, that's not the story). I was coming back from town at 11.45am and was amazed to see a full-timer cycling home to another nearby town - fully two hours and fifteen minutes before his finish time. To say that I was angry with him was an understatement, I wanted to stop the car and give him a bollocking for his stupidity, but what's the point? Half of our office is doing the same as him every day of the week so why should I care?

I know, I know, it will be me, and other hard-workers (or hard-worked) like me, who will pay the price of his stupidity whilst he, even with lapsing, will be home by 12.15pm to leave us 'work to our timers' to argue with the managers. But I'm completely powerless to stop the stupid from gradually doing either themselves or their work-mates out of jobs so they can be sat in front of the television whilst still on company pay. They will never learn a thing about working properly.

today i had no mail to deliver easy day finished early , hope its like this next week then i wont have a job. but then again i hope i have loads and loads of mail to deliver then i will have a job , moral of this story is STOP moaning about your job , be thankful your not a public sector worker who's losing their jobs . Infact instead of bragging you are making 2 hours a day , get off your lazy idle arses and fight to keep the post public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Yes your right its certainly slower than using a bike & bag but you can break the workload down further. Ive given up trying to get the most done for RM in the shortest time as we just got more and more absorbtion for our trouble.
So anything that takes longer (up to my time) is fine by me.

Started our revised rounds today. Half the office has gone in with the revision, half still as before. Took my new look walk out, minus the HCT, which are to be phased in later. What a day. Just over 4 hrs and I worked flat out. Performed the walk on a bike and on foot, as previous to changes. Will be reporting that in my opinion, and it hasn't changed since I told the planner, the walk is unsuitable for an HCT. Heard that a few others had fun and games too to will be interesting to see how things pan out in the next few weeks.
