It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

How does it work if one can't be covered, there are still tracked/reg/parcels/letters for that part of the duty.
With offices cut to the bone how could at least the tracked and reg be done on docket, reg is timed sensitive as well.
No good having a docket baron wanting it and his partner not.
You could absorb it but then that's a whole new problem.
Personally i couldn't give two f***s with it,just making convo.

Re: Shared Vans ??????
In our office if one person doesn't come in you just take a single round out in the van and they try to put the rest out on OT. If they can't get people to do it on OT either the managers go and do a bit (I say a bit, it takes them 3 times longer to do the delivery but when you complain about the size of it they tell you it doesn't take longPOSTMAN wrote:Yep fair point,so what's next?Big Daz wrote:But the reserves should all ready be allocated work covering OPGS on annual leave.POSTMAN wrote:Of course not,a reserve should step in but if for some strangeeeeeeeeeeeeeee reason you don't get one you just do what you can.sacs r full wrote:anyone know wat happens if the person your van sharing with phones in sick. are you expected to complete the duty yourself
