Just under 4 hrs today. Strangely, it was probably the easiest Friday in quite some time. Not much to knock for, and a number of gaps.

Worked right to my time Saturday. Lashed down all day, absolutely soaked. 
Today was not too busy, and hardly any packets. At least it was dry.

Nice easy day after my week off. I ache like f*** though. I reckon I took it too easy last week.
I staged a Roger Moore impersonator festival in my local village. There were a lot of eyebrows raised, I can tell you.

Revision kicked in this week but it only a table top and not P&L.
I was supposed to start my new duty but the guy who's picked my old one has broken his toe so is off sick. This means iam stuck with my old 4.30-5 hr duty for the rest of this week until another postie comes off holiday to cover it
They have not stopped using cars
Rest day tommorrow. 3 large glasses of Merlot, hic, ready for bed

Like cycling in frakking water sometimes today. At one point I was going against the wind up a great big bloody hill and I was literally moving backwards. Had to wait for the gust to blow itself out then have another crack at it. Small mercy was that the promised torrent of rain did not accompany the devilish wind. However, I opted to do a little bit of overtime and discovered the lunacy of some of the fittings. I went up one street, no 1 to 27, then found I was expected to walk back to the beginning to do nos 2 to 34, before going on to the next street, where it was the same again (it was a kind of three way-street where they ran in and out of one another, but it still made absolutely no sense that they weren't done simply). I don't know why a change to the fitting has not been advised. Obviously, the duty holder has a proper way of doing it - "so and so goes all the way around that way and then comes back around down this way" (the words of one eloquent member of the public as she described my higgledy-piggledy efforts) - but I'm not the duty holder, am I?
In terms of my own walk, everything was reasonable enough. Apart from one small thing - somebody was moving into a property that had been vacated some six months ago (I didn't know). They saw me and I got that sinking feeling as their eyes lit up, just before an eager, delicious smile crossed their face. I wanted to run back the way I'd come but there was nothing I could do as they reached inside the door and handed a small mountain of mail back to me ("it's not mine"), door-to-doors and all.

If it was a load and it has happened to me before i would and did tell them i can't carry it and to write rts ect and put it in a postbox.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

About 3 andf a half hours today. Quite a few gaps, where the D2Ds were not delivered. Not many packets either. The sun is shining and its my day off tomorrow. Yippeee!
