Be aware that this may be nothing more then a delaying tactic to allow RM to recover from the strikes then regroup and hit us hard.
The postman early morning allowance given as grand father rights can just be negoiated away in the future. All the union spoke about recently was how unpopular the phg grandfathers allowance. Moves were afoot to get rid of that.
Just watch this space, postman, they will be after your grandfather allowance in about five years time.
What do care about...
I want to retire no later then 60.
I want a decent pension which i have paid into for 26 years.
I want to be able to do overtime, not have to cover someone without pay.
I want to be able to cross a cma picket line when they go on strike.

Our collective strength has forced the employer round the table, and our negotiators have 3 weeks to get an acceptable agreement.

They will know long before the end of the 3 weeks whether they are on their way to getting one or not.

If talks break down, they'll call us out.

If talks are 'nearly there' and they need to keep the ballot live, then they'll call Area Reps out for a 15 minute tab break. This keeps the ballot live for another 28 days.

Fair enough with the comments. But remember that Dave Ward and the others are there to get us a deal not to keep us on perpetual strike. It may be that that is what it will take in the end but let's see what he comes up with. He's not done bad so far and he ain't no Keggie. Yep give 'em a chance to negotiate and from strength. Negative talk about selling down the river and you won't get support for another strike will probably weaken their negotiating stance.
To me the Union has done exactly what it said it would do suspended action if talks were reinstated. That is being true to your word, and shows we have not lied.
Go on Dave and the team give us a deal to be proud of.
