You just don't get it.
You're saying bring it on,the more the better...fine...i get that.
What i'm telling you though is the reality is slightly different,because it hasn't been resourced properly...the more you shove through,the bigger the resourcing problem will become and the more members will do any kind of s**t to get it done.
You can blame who or what you like for it,,,members,Royal Mail,HQ.the recession...it won't change it,the problem will still grow and members will hate D2D even more.

to add to my little rant the other day about d2d and the fact I was informed there was no scope in the office for anyone to help as they were in the same position - why then, did I wander in to a nearly completely empty office save for the select few part timers (like myself) this morning? no time my backside. While the full timers were out doing a 15min bit of lapsing before 8am, I was just starting, prepping my frame, my 16.6% d2d and then out to deliver around 9.30 my walk (which is officially the most difficult one in the office thanks to the nature of it).

So aye, not a happy bunny this morning. In fact, I was even more annoyed when someone asked if they could borrow some of my d2d because they couldn't be bothered preparing their own - and they'd replace them tomorrow. I was very close to telling them where to shove it, but I did refrain.

Honestly, who's the mug here?

You shouldn't be walking in to an empty frame at 8am. Speak to your manager and ask him for an up to date office workplan . Ask some searching questions if FT duties have no time built in for PT walk prep ;especially if incoming mail is sequenced

incoming mail is sorted into walk, but not sequenced. Reason I come in to an empty frame is something to do with my shift pattern, which I can't mention without making it even more obvious who I am. Needless to say, there are only two other part timers in my office in the same situation and we're all getting more than a little peeved by it.

All other part time frames are prepped and often their d2d are prepped as well - though they still have to do packets, redirections, tie down and kill offs before leaving the office.

It is amusing to see some folk who come in to a prepped frame leaving after me of a morning when I've still to prep entire duty plus d2d,tie down and all of the above
