It is important that frames are setup logically but at the end of the day the postman can deliver the mail whichever way they want. Depepnding on Special deliveries, sometimes the routine might have to changed. But you'll be surprised how many customers query the time the get their letters...
However, the idea that this is my frame or that it is my walk should not come into the new revision (P&L/modernisation) because it is most likely that people will not retain the same walks for years as it used to be. And if we are supposed to all use vans, why would the frame be set up for a bike (not relevant anymore).
It should be easier in future for anyone to come to a frame and be able to understand the walk with just a good map and few instructions - which should be in the walk log anyway.
Setting up a frame so that ot ends in my house should never have been tolerated, that is, if it were.

Agree with chrisj. A frame should be set up so anyone can deliver it logically. Which returns me to the question, "Who is ultimately responsible for making sure frames are up to date?" Surely it's the DIMs job? Problem we had was during an early attempt at revision the "New" routes were printed out, a Team of Managers came in and changed the frames, and then it was "Binned". The computer had simply printed all the even numbers on one side and all the odds on the other, most walks were a total shambles!
With Management agreement the Regular posties put the walks back the way they had been. However they'd also had a go at Walk Sequencing the mail and some of it is still coming through set up for the "abandoned proposed routes".
Some posties (the younger less experienced ones) haven't bothered to do the job properly (they know where they're going) so Chaos Rules.
