Royal Mail delivers for good causes

THE postal service has given its stamp of approval for charity by raising cash for three deserving causes.

Staff at Royal Mail’s Swan Valley depot in Northampton raised £757.31 for the county’s air ambulance service with a raffle, in which the winning prize was for a member of staff to be allowed Christmas Eve off work.

Staff members also dressed up in fancy dress to raise more funds and they donated cat and dog food, old towels and toys for Maxicare dog rehoming in Little Irchester.

Tinned and packet food donations were also made to the homeless shelter in Oak Street, Northampton.

Jo Mistry, from the Royal Mail, said: “We are really pleased with what we managed to collect. Everyone got involved.”
