Criminal Confesses in article and provides partial address

They will cost jobs (was original title)

I WOULD like to thank the Royal Mail for all the free (unfranked) stamps of all denominations and designs they have provided me with over the past year. It really does save me a lot on postage!

(I recently sent a parcel somewhere, a large part of the postage being covered by unfranked stamps of different designs and values).

I have, in fact, been in correspondence with Royal Mail, which stated that any unfranked stamps should be hand-cancelled by postal staff.

A few days after receiving that reply, I received another item of mail bearing – guess what – unfranked stamps!

As the refrain to the protest song Where have all the flowers gone? runs: When will they ever learn? When will they ever learn?

When indeed?

Keep up the good work lads and lasses at the Royal Mail.

That's one very good way of losing your jobs!

Not enough people or time to cancel stamps at Bristol Mail Centre I'm afraid. When its time to give up canceling its actually refered to as putting into operation PLAN B. Saved on overtime budget but sent out lots of 97p stamps as free gifts.
