Believe me,the last people we want to buy us is TNT. Just look at what they have just done to their full time workers, got rid of them all. If they buy us,it we be non-stop industrial aggro.

TNT are skint anyhow, But if they were offered RM at a price of £10 with the promise of £800,000,000 public subsidy per annum bit like the railways then it might be a goer

The union is already insolvent and we don't know what the asking price is but I think you would have to up the contibution by quite a fair amount.Pat Ostman wrote:About £7,500 per person?kimski1976 wrote:i think the workers and cwu buy royal mail. whats the price tag? we can do it!!!!

Just let it go to the dogs, just like we should have let the banks go. Who stand to lose the most. The rich b...strds, let them dig into their own pockets and bale out these companies, as they are the ones with the most interest in seeing them succeed.

Re: when will it be sold
Don’t think so.....this is how i think it will go..north london driver wrote:
but atleast we will have a strong union.
Government announce 'buyer' for royal mail
Union oppose any 'sell off'
Union ballot for strike action
Strikes not well supported, but still cause big disruption
Royal mail AND the union 'finished' after strike action
government 'give' royal mail to tnt or whoever....
We are now all wearing tnt uniforms or whoever the 'lucky' person is that has 8bn to clear pension deficit....
They can now change your conditions, like reduce your pay, etc etc...
Amen.....
Hope i am wrong, but one thing is for certain, the union will still be here, but it will not be as strong as it is today....

Any buyer will not be asked to cough that up as an incentive.we are now all wearing tnt uniforms or whoever the 'lucky' person is that has 8bn to clear pension defict....

Re: when will it be sold
Try not to forget that £8 billion is just a figure plucked out of the air by the self same accountants that can turn a £1,000,000 a day loss into a £1,000,000 a day profit overnight{when it suitsis that has 8bn to clear pension defict....

The government are only interested in clearing the pension deficit, that is all that matters, as long as the new owners have the money to do that, then they will be 'given' royal mail, as royal mail and the pension fund, will no be longer the governments responsibility
