Already been told there's not enough work for several FTs when we get the 90 odd percent sequenced mail in.

It will be about the same amount as the walksort trays you get now - except because the machines are prone to breaking down and the MC's often get mail up late, you will find that you're regularly sorting the mail that should have gone through the machines, by hand on IPS.

It's not 'teething problems' either, it's just life with WSM's, they save me around 10 mins per day when everything goes ok.

But yeah you're probably on the right track. Rumour is our office will now have a tabletop revision, with some walks using the vans we already have in the car park (about £200,000 worth )

At least a small part of our office revision went in and we got the £600

Heard today all revisions pulled nationally after a meeting yesterday by bigwigs,RM have run out of monies to put rest of revisions in.

Everyone knew there wasn't enough cash to implement changes of this magnitude. For the love of god, why would a business on the brink gamble so foolishly.

Also been told that now that it is quiet no one can claim on a mon or tues! Cooking the books yet again. This is why revisions are failing. If RF actually used the right figures then it might all work. PS. Just a postie at the moment, but spent most of my life doing proper management jobs. Willing to take over from Moya. Best bit is will do it for £52000pa. There you go, £350000 saved straight away, plus i might actually get the job done!

I'm suprised at that, our planner told us that because of the constantly failing revisions no more will go ahead this financial year. Any more failures and regulator fines will far outweigh any potential savings.

We're the same as you with the packet counts etc, but I doubt our revision will ever go in, in it's current form. I have a feeling we'll be getting a tabletop revision and be given the vans to use as they've been rusting in the car park for 6 months.

The planner also said that RM are about £100 million over their expected expenditure on these revisions at present, and that all the revisions have been based on a load of assumptions (no. of packets + time taken to deliver them etc) and that has contributed to the balls up.

Basically RM management either didn't care or didn't believe us that it takes us X amount of time to do a job, and made their own figures up instead. That worked didn't it

It all points to the whole P&L revisions either being pulled altogether or being completely redone with reasonable workloads this time.

Wow, that's lucky, now all those areas where no planner was available means they can now have the joy of Delivery Methods Revisions instead of pissant self starters and get that weight off the bike.

My DOM reckons we could be bumped up the DM deployment schedule, due to making less savings than put out by the IWT with our pissant/self starter/IWT/non sequenced mail revision.

IWT said 156 hours, were proposing 105 hours worth of savings to the members.

just my opinion but you shouldn't propose ANY hours reduction to the staff not your domain ..... i'd fight tooth and nail to have no reductions not pander to some dick head dim dom !!!
