39 hour working week?

Are fulltime postmen ment to be on a 39 hour week from 40 hour week? If I recall it was part of the agreement somewhere but didn't know when or how it was coming in? If somebody could share some light on this I would be grateful. Cheers John.

It will be introduced with the walk sequenced mail revision. As walk sequenced mail is being phased in across the country there could be up to a 2.5 year gap between the first offices getting it and the last.

hi we have had walk sequenced in our office for to years now it is good! :Applause we get two trays overnight and one about 0800!, but we on 0630-1430 and no sign of 39hr week yet? :pray

But have you had a revision thats the important part. You have to have a Walk Sequencing Revision to get the 39 hours.

Any other revision or just getting Walk Sequenced mail does not mean you automatically qualify for the SWW (Shorter Working Week).

3 WS trays per walk :shock: :shock: :shock: is that all. We get 5 to 7 trays per walk, no wonder u love it :Very Happy .

been getting walk sequenced mail for a while now but still loads of manual to do not the drastic drop that linos predicted we got told that the mail centre werent coding all the mail as our machines need a barcode printed on envelope to be able to read it and thats before mail centre closures so what will happen then is anybodies guess

As soon as the first office had its revision and put on a 39 hour week the rest of the country working 40 hours should be given 1 hour per week overtime. Not our fault we have to wait for the revision.

So Big Daz, that's a 2.5 year difference in hourly rate for people doing the same job across the country. This difference is also going to filter down through overtime rates, is it not, as well as subsequent pay negotiations, until the whole country has this revision ?

Just what is a sequenced revision? What are the changesthat have to be made?

Cause as far as i can see the time lost through getting sequenced mail has been taken up by moving D2D into the work load.

Now if both DOM and rep agree that have we had a revision? Or do we have to find more ways to loose hours?

Answers on a postcard please........................

Big dazz fishtank etc etc i do not salute you for you are the ethos of cwu crank and spin I dont give a feck. we are being stitched and the cwu are using this site as a component of their failure to support the membership , Furthermore hand back your badges you are not worthy of the shirt ,

I was given a shirt but it is slightly too small (either that or I'm putting on weight. Perhaps I need to go back out on delivery and forget about all that full-time release. :left: )
How come you didn't get a shirt FT?
Maybe they didn't have your size.
I would deffo ask your ADR for a shirt before privatisation.
