Post off: Residents' anger over month-long delay in Epsom deliveries
Epsom’s sorting office has come under further criticism after more residents claimed they had not received post since before Christmas.
In an article last week the Epsom Guardian spoke to Tina Tanner from Somerset Close in Epsom who claimed that a source within the sorting office had complained about a severe backlog of Christmas post and a lack of staff.
Since then the paper has been inundated by residents claiming that their post is up to a month late.
Pauline Snow, from Epsom Downs, who is still waiting to receive four Christmas cards posted on December 10, was also told by her postman that there are sacks of undelivered mail waiting to be sorted.
She said: “The situation is appalling. Many people in my area have not received their post which in some cases contains money and personal information.
“According to my postman the management know about the problem but nothing seems to be done.
“I can’t believe they didn’t hire anyone extra over the period of poor weather.”
Ian McCondochie from Clandon Close in Epsom claims that he has at least ten missing letters.
He said: “The paper boy and milkman were able to cope over the period of poor weather, so why wasn’t the Royal Mail?
“The whole thing is shambolic and if you try and ring the customer services line, it is just a waste of time.
The Epsom Guardian contacted the Royal Mail last week who would not comment on the issue of staff reductions.
A Royal Mail spokesman said: “Epsom Delivery Office is currently clearing all mail on a daily basis.”

Month long delay in Epsom deliveries
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
