Too soon to tell.

Lets just wait and see.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The wrong question

Post by The Sarge »

Its the wrong question as the union will obviously not sell us out. The question should be is the union using the right tactics? (Or in laymens terms have they fcuked up or not!)

Boxing

Post by deadbox »

Have you ever seen a boxing match where one guys winning all the way till the second last round....his opponent gets a standing count...then comes back and delivers the killer punch

The CWU have just given Allan "The Red DESTROYER" Leighton a standing count

Will Billy "The BOTTLER" Haynes be able to withstand the next wave of blows from his opponent

We'll find out , after this comercial break........

this option got my vote lets all calm down and wait til sept then pass judgement

so far the CWU exec have made in my opinion mostly the right moves in this dispute

dont forget guys where we where a couple of months ago RM refusing to talk to us and trying to break the union and force these changes on us

and also as part of this IA suspension RM have agreed to pull all exec action too

so lets not panic and wait and see

trust me if the PEC f**k us up come sept i be shouting from the rooftops how we been sold out but until then lets keep on working to our 318 and doing the job proper

No,i don't believe so,they've done everything that's practically and legally at their disposal.
however, they have got some serious PR work to do with it's members,
if people realised they had only called industrial action merely to force more negotiation, would they have had such support,
but more importantly,it will be regaining the hearts and minds if industrial action is required again.

Come on lads. don't get too jittery now. Far too early to start getting negative. We've come to this point now supporting the CWU, which i think we should all be proud of( i bloody well feel pleased with what we've done) So now we've got to sit back & wait for Dave to do what he thinks is a good deal for us, which i'm sure he will. At the end of the day we have scared R.M. with a united show of support for the CWU. Thing is whatever we achieve there will be some who won't be happy with what we get. Stay chilled for the next couple weeks, & keep faith in Dave

I voted yes - I just got my second delivery this week after one every ten days before then - not scientific but must have been a tiny bit of backlog catch-up this week which means the next two weeks were critical to keep the momentum up.

I don't think there' really such a thing as a union sell out though - all unions are there to negotiate with management, that's their role in this society, so when there's no negotiation they do everything with the purpose of getting back to the table, even if there's nothing there. The only way this'll be won is if people are prepared to take action outside the union and against the leadership where necessary. Things don't seem to be solid enough for all-out unofficial action (although obviously solid enough for some!), but work-to-rule, holding mass meetings, making links with workers elsewhere etc. all that is possible and would keep the pressure up on both Royal Mail and Hayes/Ward at the same time.
