You can only do a max of 6 a week. So if they give you 4 from previous weeks then they can only give you 2 more lots to make up to the 6.
Sorry but nope...
http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... 15&t=33263" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Unfortunately some areas have also experienced a carry over of items on top of the 6 which has created difficulties for some units.
Delivery Representatives should ensure sufficient time is being provided to deal with the increase in items indoor and weight on delivery and replenishment outdoor.

So basically the limit is 6 BUT on occasion they can bring out last years Debenhams sales one and make it 7 BUT they have to provide
even more time to prep & deliver
If I was looking into buying RM then I think this would help sway my mind to stay well & truly away from such a disorganised sh*thole.
How can any agreement state a limit and then have both parties disagree and go over

Unfortunately that old phrase "Local Agreement"has reared it's ugly head again! I sometimes wonder if it's ever been used for the benefit of Posties? :hmmmm
I feel genuine sympathy for anyone trying to throw off and deliver these ridiculous ammounts of D2Ds.
My DO must be in some sort of advertising "Black Hole", as we very rarely have more than 4 items. I know these local fast food outlets can swamp an office when they have an offer on i.e dominoes, subway etc. Perhaps the larger Towns have got to cope with more of this trash.

Dare i say it...

In a 'normal' office with staff that use their head and a rep that is not a twat you could have loads of fun with this s**t.
The more work you have to do the better, but it does depend on how your office is.

In my office we would have a field day.

I came back after a week's leave to find all the previous weeks d2d still under the frame

asked manager what they wanted me to do with them their answer ' sorry but they all have to go this week'

my answer ' fine go and find who was on it last week and they can take them'

answer ' oh we don't know who was on it last week you'll have to take them as well as this weeks'

my answer ' xxxxxx was on it last week and if you didn't monitor them and make sure they took them then that is your problem, if you make me take them I will insist that it becomes a conduct issue for the person that didn't take them and for you for not making daily checks to make sure the daily amount was taken'

went for my break and when I came back they had disappeared and nothing more was said

All backdated D2D items are now being sent back to Crewe or Warrington where ever they are sent from mysteriously now, after being told at the start of the week we had to basically try and play catch up. That's typical, first try and get them done by any means, and when that doesn't work, then use common sense!

It might seem like common sense in the short term but in the long run decisions like this can only hurt us.
This will cost RM a fortune in refunds and printing costs and will lose us business.
You might not give a s**t now and to a certain extent i understand how you feel but in the end any loss of business is never a good thing.

We are not pizza and take away leaflet deliverers. Let the poor students and other eaking a living do jobs like that - it is only fair.

D2D as Information leaflets, election stuff and very big companies I can understand but what we have now is ant Tom, dick and harry esquire using Royal Mail for D2Ds.

Before you talk about loss of income, you should consider the profitability. It might not even be that profitable given the sorts of people now using the service. I bet they are given them away as per usual with Royal Mail - Lots of Revenue through hard work of staff and monopoly but very little profit. It might not be worth it!

And of course it wouldn't matter if those CWU members that work in D2D bundling centres lost their jobs as well.

Well according to the sainted Moya we lose money on DSA and we lose money on packets. Perhaps, D2Ds are one of the few things we can make a profit on.

Don't start imagining that somehow we are 'too good' to have to take on this work because we ain't.

When all's said and done, we need the income they generate to protect all our jobs.

i have no problem doing D2D, what i want is proper time to do them, since the agreement came in our office is doing the same as before no time has been added to do the D2D.
