we only get 5 minutes more break because of european law and the only real difference is that mail centre staff generally take their breaks unlike d.o. staff who are still only concerned about finishing early all the time.

I appreciate that your responding to unfair comments about MC staff, but, most DO staff who work through their M/R don't finnish early. They do it to complete on time and in practice at least we are expected to complete every day.

PS. i always take my full M/R.

secondly if you have to work through your m/r just to finish on time then more fool you.have a m/r and cut off(in other words DO THE JOB PROPERLY).the idiots who bend over backwards for royal fail are no better thought of for doing it in fact management will just walk all over you and wave their bonus payments in your face,bonus's earned through the idiocy of delivery men.
either do the job properly and try to save jobs in the long run or cock it all up and come on this site to moan about everything,its your choice.i can guess wot the bulk of comments will be.

Haven't you been paying attention to the posts on here, and the Panorama programm (to name but 2 sources). The slash and burn tactics in the DOs, means that even those who DO work through their breaks, and come in early. Rarely finish on time. And the growing numbers of people who DO, do their jobs properly, are under emense pressure to work at ludicrous speeds, to make it possible to finish on time. Which of course, they can't do (even a former Marine fitness instructor struggled!). Which means regular B&H from Managers.

It was wrong to claim that we don't pull our weight, working indoors. But quite frankly. For all our problems (insufficient staff and equipment, for example), we don't have it anywhere near as bad as they do..... Yet!

Give it another few years, and it'll be just as bad where we are too, unless something is done about it. Which is why we need to do something to protect our Brothers and Sisters in Deliveries. They are the first victims, and need to be rescued. If we fail to do so, it'll be our turn next. But far more importantly. We shouldn't have an us & them attitude. We're all Posties. We just do different stages of the same process. We should stick together, not snipe at each other.

I would say that the majority of f/t in my DO work through their meal relief to finish 40 minutes early.
In order to do so they need to take out an extra 40 minutes work (because the drivers don't leave any earlier) - so either they use their cars or they leave carrying overweight bags.
They do this to finish 40 minutes earlier.
They start early so they can stand about and moan about the fact they aren't allowed to leave when they are ready, despite the fact they haven't fully prepped the p/t walk they are supposed to. They haven't prepped the p/t walk because they need to stand around and moan about the fact they have to lapse when the p/t doesn't.
It isn't all doom and gloom in the DOs but there are some right dickheads who work in them.

Like all early shift staff who work in my MC,i do a 6am-430pm EVERY saturday,not by choice-and try getting a saturday off!!! ....make the most of your "late" saturdays while they are still "early" finishes.............

I will post the date when our revision is due to kick in and if you stand outside your DO that morning I am sure even the East coast will be able to hear the sound of bitches crying because they are going to have to a) work together and b) work to their time and c) have the gonads to cut off if necessary.
