I am not interested in the local knowledge of the planner.
S/he is there to crunch numbers - not to provide any input.
If they have no local knowledge you won't have to listen to - " I could do that in 30 minutes" etc etc.

The other problem with planners is they are staring unemployment in the face.
What are RM going to do with a whole battallion of planners when the revisions are done?
Consequently they are desparate to please their masters rather than do a good job.

The new walks in our office are absolute rubbish meaning some walks are only part done or even not at all. We have managers taking walks out, managers preparing the d2d crap. Does this not tell them that things aren't right. The workers don't help themselves. Some are going out on P & L and running round with pouches on their backs. The new way of working is supposed to take the weight off our backs. The walks need shortening. They should have been left as they were with the extra packets and special deliveries added on to them. It's not rocket science but hang on, we are talking Royal Mail management here! Perhaps we should start again from the beginning.

Even by adding the larger packets and tracked items to the pre revision duties would still have made it impossible to finish on time in the majority of cases . On my old duty delivering the extra larger packets and tracked items , I might have got finished on time a couple of days a week .

My own opinion is that the bundled revisions will be delayed until those that are in already are resolved.
That's just common sense,the press attention has been embarrassing and damaging to the company and the implementation costs of these revisions have been frightening.
That aside Lovejoy...there is no doubt that there is a "rumour" circulating amongst management that they are very close to pulling the plug on the whole thing and moving modernisation ahead at their own pace.
This is very unsettling for members even if there is no foundation to the rumours...they didn't start on this site,they started amongst management and that is very worrying.

On a national basis both the bundled and IWT revisions are going ahead. I know for a fact a whole host are going in over the next few weeks for example.
There will always be variations to this in certain areas - poor planners, lack of CWU / member involvement etc leading to revisions being pulled / delayed. On the whole though there seems to be no signs that RM are pulling back on the implementation on a nationwide basis. This may change if for example the IR climate worsens but atm both types of revisions are being planned / implemented as we speak.

i was told TODAY there is to be NO MORE revision and NOTHING is getting implemented anywhere til they sort out the whole shambles. this is from a manager. who was out for the match. even our own office has now been told we are now not going to implement the 3pm last letter, and this came from our branch. the reason was,,,,,,its been pulled. thats why i believe it mate,

Not to knock you but this manager whatever his/her rank is wrong. I know of at least 10 integrated revisions coming in tomorrow. There have been delays / postponements in areas but it is not a National thing. If you want to believe this manager then thats fine.

I don't think the revisions have been pulled, they've been suspended until they can figure out what's gone wrong (as if we don't already know - no input from the staff).

No it isn't going back DV...it never was.
Royal Mail have basically thrown the last dice with this one...too much money spent...too many ego's on the line...and jobs....no backup plan whatsover.....i'm nervous for the company as a whole because i think the plan is deeply flawed.

Tomorrow DIM amd planner going for a meeting in CH/LL area to see when the revision can be put in place. Been postponed for last 2 months, and they want it in place. Told everyone to vote no on revision as DIM said on floor some months ago no long and shorts. Just found out, long and shorts in all town duties. So hope he gets go ahead, then hopefully we will throw it all out.
