This is nuts!

Post by stephen500 »

So we have a strike due for 19:00 tonight and we are still in the dark.
I presume some people will go out for the day, perhaps take their kids out for the day..it is the school holidays.
Does the union expect us all to hang about all day in case they call it off.
Perhaps some drivers might even have decided to have a nice drink in the pub this afternoon. What happens if they call it off, they won't be able to drive!
How will the branches contact everyone if they are in?

You would think that our lives revolved around Royal mail.
Even now, I bet there are some docket barons waiting straining at the leash in case they can get in between 1900 and 2200 tonight.

If at the unlikely event that the i/a was cancelled I am pretty certain that it would not be cancelled at this late stage till 2moro's planned action, so those who are planning a nice drink have one for me. :Applause :Applause

I think it very unlikely that CWU would cancel a strike day at less than 24 hours notice, and remember this - it was the managers that started spreading RMs rumour about the strike being called off - why are people dancing to THEIR tune - CWU called the strike and they will call it off when they have good reason to and not before.

There are enough headless chickens on the management side - we don't want any running around on ours.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

so is this just a rumour sent by royal mail to try and fool people into going to work..surely thats a bit desperate if it is..

if it isint how can it be called off at such a late time..not everybody gets these emails..sounds a bit fishy to me..
