Royal Mail has apologised for delays which have left many people in the North West still waiting to receive Christmas cards and presents.
BBC North West Tonight has received hundreds of complaints about post arriving late or not at all.
Royal Mail has admitted there are delays in the system but stressed that it successfully shifted almost two billion cards and parcels over the festive season.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I don't accept these excuses. It's 14 January. Plenty of time for Royal Mail to get their act together. Yesterday I received a Christmas card double franked first in Manchester and then over franked in South Lakes. I had an item posted first class from Sandy Bedfordshire on 10 January. Like everything that Royal Mail seem to be handling just now it has not arrived. Why not? It's supposed to be a 1-2 day service. Who do I complain to? Nobody!! Come on Royal Mail. Stop saying sorry and get your act together FAST. Get back to being the servivce you were before you decided to do this reorganisation in the North West.

In 50 years I've never experienced anything like this before. The management team need to do some serious lessons learned work to ensure this doesn't happen again next year

Same problem here in Manchester city centre, we are waiting on urgent letters and payments from our customers since before xmas. To see what was going on I posted 2 letter to our office in the post box outside on 11/01/11 one first class one second class and now on the 20th still not received either of them. We are a 2 minute walk from Newton Street sorting office and a 5 minute walk from the Oldham Road sorting office. From post box to sorting office back to our office is less than 1/2 a mile and they still can not manage it. Shame on you Royal Mail

It doesn't work like that,it used to but no more. From post box to sorting office back to our office is less than 1/2 a mile
All mail picked up goes to a Mail Centre which could be miles away, even to another county,up your way Royal Mail have closed Mail Centres, that's where your problem is.

IIRC both Norton Street one and the Oldham street ones are both Mail Centres - they sort mail and then pass it to the Delivery Offices to actually deliver. They have been suffering though because of a general back log in the North West Region (which postman intimated at).dizzydawnb1977 wrote:Same problem here in Manchester city centre, we are waiting on urgent letters and payments from our customers since before xmas.
